The entire roster was on the ramp as the WWE began a tribute to one of the most unique men to ever compete in the WWE (or anywhere else in wrestling, for that matter)…The Ultimate Warrior. Forget all the negative stories about Warrior’s attitude and behavior, tonight was a time to reflect and honor one incredible competitor…

Jerry Lawler did the traditional Tolling of the Bell for the memory of Warrior. The entire arena was in complete silence. Several of the stars were in tears as the bell echoed off the walls of the arena. The crowd then popped for the Ultimate Warrior. There were tons of Warrior masks and t-shirts scattered through the crowd. There was a huge “Warrior” chant that rose to fill the arena.

Alberto Del Rio vs Rob Van Dam
Intercontinental Title Tournament to determine the Number One Contender, First Round Match

The Finish:

Del Rio went for the Cross Armbreaker but RVD with the Rolling Scissors for a two. Five Star Frog Splash! 1-2-3.

Your Winner: Rob Van Dam
Raw Ranking: 3.0

Raw looked back at the Triple H attack on Daniel Bryan, last week. The Shield came to Daniel’s aid and took out Evolution and Kane. Roman dropped HHH with the Superman Punch. Daniel then connected with the Dragon’s Fang Knee Strike.

In the office, Batista and Randy Orton chatted with HHH and Stephanie McMahon. We were not allowed to hear the audio.

Ultimate Memories #1: Summerslam 1988

Ultimate Warrior defeats Honky Tonky Man for the Intercontinental Title

Evolution and Steph were still talking, in the office. HHH knew both Batista and Orton wanted to be the World Champion but he needed help with The Shield. HHH said a united Shield was a problem that maybe no one could stop. Stephanie suggested that Evolution reunite to take out The Shield. Batista said he was more interested in being champion. Randy agreed. They both walked away.

The Brotherhood (Goldust and Cody Rhodes) vs Rybaxle (Ryback and Curtis Axel)

The Finish:

Both teams had their time in the sun. Cody tagged in and snapped Ryback’s neck on the rope. Goldustin Uppercut. Cody took out Axel. Moonsault by Cody that only barely connected. Ryback headed to the floor. Cody flew off the top turnbuckle to the floor. Springboard Missile Dropkick, by Cody, but Axel made the save. Disaster Kick to Axel. He went for the same for Ryback but got leveled with the Meathook Clothesline.

Your Winners: Ryback and Curtis Axel
Raw Ranking: 2.75

Another Bo-Lieve promo ran for Bo Dallas. He is so the other side of the coin from his brother, Bray Wyatt.

Paige vs Alicia Fox
Divas Title Match

Man, Paige is just so darn cute. Raw showed how Paige defeated A.J. Lee, last week, to end the record-breaking Divas title run.

The Finish:

Paige came back from a brutal shot and hit Short Arm Clotheslines. She shrieked like a Banshee and nailed a Dropkick. Paige with a wild Flying Scorpion Crosslock to force the Tap Out. Call it the Creasing the Spine.

Your Winner: Paige
Raw Ranking: 2.5

The Usos vs Batista and Randy Orton
Tag Team Title Match

The Finish:

This was just downright brutal. The Usos were on the offensive from the word “Go!”. Randy was attacking one of the Usos, on the floor, when The Shield hit ringside. They attacked Orton and then Batista. Randy was sent into the barricade as the crowd shrieked. Batista tried to fight but took a Superman Punch from Roman Reigns.

Your Winners (by Disqualification): Batista and Randy Orton
Raw Ranking: 2.5

The next Ultimate Moment was from Wrestlemania VI, when Ultimate Warrior defeated Hulk Hogan for the WWF Title.

HHH ran into Batista and Orton, backstage and simply said “Told ya”.

Cesaro vs Mark Henry
Intercontinental Title Tournament to determine the Number One Contender, First Round Match

Paul Heyman came out and crowed about Brock Lesnar breaking The Streak. After drawing it out, way too long, he brought out Cesaro.

The Finish:

Mark told Heyman to stay clear of him. The two men went back and forth, both showing their incredible strength. Cesaro with wild Forearms and European Uppercuts. Mark pushed Cesaro away but Cesaro kept coming with Forearms and European Uppercuts. Mark with a Steam Roller but he stumbled. 2 count. Cesaro snapped Mark over the top rope. Cesaro escaped the World’s Strongest Slam and hit a European Uppercut to the back of the head and the Morningstar. Neutralizer!

Your Winner: Cesaro
Raw Ranking: 2.5

HHH told Brad Maddox to go find The Shield and let them know they were fighting in the Main Event. Brad was not to tell them who The Shield would be fighting.

Lana came out to introduce Alexander Rusev. Brigitte Nielsen called…Lana she wants her Rocky IV character back.

Alexander Rusev vs Xavier Woods

The Finish:

This was so lop-sided. Rusev powered over Woods before slapping on the Accolade (Camel Clutch variation). Woods tapped out but Rusev would not release. R-Truth rushed in and attacked Rusev. Lana appeared to remove Rusev from the mix but then unleashed him on Truth.

Your Winner: Alexander Rusev
Raw Ranking: 2.0

The Next Ultimate Moment was from SummerSlam 1990. Ultimate Warrior battled Rick Rude inside a steel cage. Warrior managed to survive Rude and Bobby Heenan to retain.

Jack Swagger vs Sheamu
Intercontinental Title Tournament to determine the Number One Contender, First Round Match

The Finish:

Swagger took the advantage for the first half of the match but the big Irishman began to battle back. Sheamus with the 10 Beats of the Bowery. Battering Ram by Sheamus. Swagger had the Patriot Lock but Sheamus refused ot submit. Sheamus turned and kicked free. Shoulder Block sent Sheamus tumbling out to the floor. Swagger with a Full Rush and attack on the hurt knee. Swagger threw Sheamus back in the ring. Sheamus came out of nowhere to catch Jack with the Brogue Kick!

Your Winner: Sheamus
Raw Ranking: 2.5

Another promo for Adam Rose ran. I like this kid. Every generation has the one Party Guy (Honky Tonk Man, Disco Inferno, etc…) Rose is this generation’s version. He should be fun to watch.

Damien Sandow was out to run his mouth. Big Show came out to confront the loud-mouth Sandow. Sandow ran off at the mouth and Show just stood there. When Sandow poked Show, he stared at Sandow, evilly. A single Knockout Punch sent Sandow to the canvas. Best way to shut up a loud-mouth.

The Wyatts came out to cut a promo. Bray rambled, as he usually does. Bray told the fans that he has never lied to them. He accused Cena of making a career out of lying to the fans. John Cena eventually came out and challenged Bray to a one-on-one Steel Cage Match at Extreme Rules. Before the challenge, John had some fun with Photo Shopped Photos of the OTHER members of the Wyatt Family.

Fandango is now hanging with Layla. Fandango said it was all over between him and Summer Rae.

Santino Marella and Emma vs Layla and Fandango
Mixed Tag Team Match

The Finish:

Emma latched on the Dil-Emma (Tarantula) to Layla but the former cheerleader escaped. Emma went up top but Layla knocked her off the ropes. Emma hit hard and was stunned. Layla took full advantage and pinned the rookie Diva.

Your Winners: Layla and Fandango
Raw Ranking: 1.5

Stephanie McMahon ripped Kane a Big Red New One for his recent failures. She fired him up and he eventually went over to the case which held his old mask. Kane took back his Big Red Monster Identity. Thank the Stars for that one! I absolutely Hate the Corporate Kane character. Kane said he was going to unleash the “Old Kane” on Daniel Bryan. That should be awesome.

Raw ran a highlight of Warrior’s last appearance on Raw. It was so odd to hear him talking about drawing his last breath and having his heart beat for one final time. It almost felt like he knew that his time was almost done in this reality. My prayers go out to his widow and his two little girls. I hope that the love that they felt from Warrior will help them through these dark times.

Adam Rose was back on the Exotic Express Party Bus. I would have SO loved to have traveled to New Orleans in something like that, instead of what I rode on.

Wade “Bad News” Barrett vs Dolph Ziggler
Intercontinental Title Tournament to determine the Number One Contender, First Round Match

The Finish:

Barrett held the ropes to counter a Zig Zag. Barrett almost had it won when he nailed the Black Hole/Blackpool Slam. Ziggler almost got the duke with a Roll Up but he couldn’t hold Barrett down. Barrett pushed out of a DDT attempt and clocked Dolph with the Bull Hammer Elbow.

Your Winner: Wade “Bad News” Barrett
Raw Ranking: 3.0

The ran a Man Behind the Mask kind of thing for the “New and Improved” Kane.

Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns (The Shield) vs ?

It was time for The Shield to learn who they are going to face…

The Shield vs Curtis Axel, Ryback, Alberto Del Rio, Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater, Jindar Mahal, “Bad News” Barrett, Fandango, Jack Swagger, Titus O’Neil and Alexsander Rusev

All the guys tried to destroy The Shield members. Seth, Dean and Roman pretty much held their own for most of the match. It ended up turning into a complete Mosh Pit. The ref eventually tossed out the match.

Your Winner: Thrown Out
Raw Ranking: N/A

Evolution came out under the old graphics and music. Orton and Batista took out Seth and Dean. The trio then set their sights on the big man, Roman. Triple H laid out Roman with the Pedigree! I can only expect to see Evolution vs Shield at Extreme Rules. I can only hope so…

It was time to ring down the curtain on this week’s special episode of Raw. This is the fourth of these kind of shows that I’ve watched. They are always so hard to watch. I remember the Owen Hart, Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero shows. The Owen and Eddie shows had the same painful feelings surrounding them that this one did. I haven’t always been the biggest fan of the Ultimate Warrior but I have to give him credit for being one of the most unique and energetic characters, ever. Thank You, Warrior. You will always remain in our minds and hearts. God Bless!
