This would truly be the first time Magnus had to go it alone when defending the championship, and it did not work out in his favor. Magnus tried to steal a win when he brought the belt into the ring and delivered a low blow to Young when the referee took the strap away. Magnus went for the cover, but Young kicked out at two and then countered a closeline off the ropes from Magnus into a crucifix pin that got him a two count. Off an Irish whip reversal, Young stopped short of a bent-over Magnus and delivered a piledriver in the center of the ring. Young covered up and got the three, becoming the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Read more.
