Former WWF champion Ultimate Warrior Jim Hellwig has posted a long message on his official website where he discusses the prospect of a return to the ring as well as the death of former friend Davey Boy Smith.

In regard to Smith's death the Warrior commented that, "Davey died at 39 years of age because he chose to. The choices he was making led him to an early death. He, and he alone, killed himself prematurely. But few want to accept what is true."

Warrior goes into detail about his relationship with Smith when he first broke into the WWF, why Smith's death should not be compared to the passing of Owen Hart, Smith's alleged drug use, Smith's actions during the timeframe he injured his back while working for WCW, and Warrior's last meeting with Smith when they deposed him for a lawsuit Hellwig once brought against the WWF.

Hellwig uses Smith's passing as a forum to comment on the drug use within the professional wrestling industry, stating that, "All the top Superstars use drugs. All wannabe superstars use them. Many fall into perverse habitual use which leads to abuse. There are just as many drug-combination choices as there are drugs easily available to them. Painkillers, gimmicks to get up, gimmicks to get down, steroids, rejuvenation juice, liquor, marijuana, etc."

In addition, Hellwig comments on how his life has changed since becoming a father, dealings with different independent promoters including the WWA's Andrew McManus, the possibilities of his working for NWA TNA, and even Bret Hart's recent Calgary Sun column calling Hulk Hogan a "hero."

Unlike most of Hellwig's past postings on his site, this one is not written within the confines of the Ultimate Warrior character and is an interesting and stunning brutal commentary on the darker side of the pro wrestling industry.
