Q: Bill I used to love your gossip columns in the old "Apter-Mags." Do you think you could do one for us on 1wrestling.com?--Ryan Kistera
A: Thanks Ryan and I am glad to oblige. Just a note -- the "old-school" gossip column I wrote was "storyline" based -- as is this one (below). Keep in mind the following is not -- I repeat -- not based upon facts I have been given. Just enjoy this short bit it for what it is ...
APTER'S ALLEY/GRAPPLING GOSSIP ...
Many of REY MYSTERIO'S closest friends are saying they fear that BATISTA will end the masked man’s career when they collide in the ring at the 2009 Survivor Series. One of his closest pals told us, “I’m not nervous about Rey losing the match. I’m terrified that Batista will cripple him. I’ve never seen Batista out for blood like this. The guy has lost it. This could be the end of Rey’s career. He may wind up crippled by that animal Batista!”
On the other side of the upcoming battle, Batista’s friends say he has never been so intense about destroying an opponent. “He just wants to break Mysterio in half,” one of his trainers commented. “His plan is to do it slowly and make Rey suffer. I’d hate to be in Mysterio’s shoes. If I were Rey I would pull out of the match before it’s just too late. Rey’s got a wife and kids to take care of and he can’t very well do that if he is crippled by Batista and there is a good chance that will happen!”
STING has been uncharacteristically quiet about HULK HOGAN signing with TNA. When asked by reporters, all he does is crack a smile and politely says, “not now” as he walks away … Rumors are running wild about ROB VAN DAM being brought into TNA by what is being called “The Hogan Administration.” RVD would be a definite benefit to TNA and a champion AJ STYLES in the ring with the high-flying Van Dam is a modern day fans’ dream match for sure!
In what I call one of the most egotistical outbursts in wrestling history RANDY ORTON has told several members of the press that although he totally respects the careers of the rest of the Orton family, he is by far the best wrestler the family has ever produced. Included on that list of course is Grandfather Bob Orton, Randy’s father Bob Jr., and brother Berry as well. Reporter Jerry Williams notes that Orton says he thoroughly researched the careers of both his dad and grandfather and found that they don’t come near his greatness (in his own opinion of course).
That's all for now. I'll see YOU at the matches!
