Webster's Weekly
October 25th - November 1st
They say time
flies when you're having fun. Nothing
could be truer when it comes to the
action and fun of NWA On Fire. Hard to
believe we're already heading into
November in just a few short days. Don't
worry though...the action will be hotter
than ever even though the outdoor
temperature may show otherwise.
Especially with live events in Augusta,
Maine and South Windsor, Connecticut.
Anyone planning on being in attendance
at Nomads on the 21st is certainly in
for a fun night. Lots of great
wrestling (of course) and tremendous
family fun. Check out Nomads website,nomadsadventurequest.com
for a look at all there is to do.
Keep an eye on
Biff Busick. The NWA On Fire relative
newcomer has been nothing short of
impressive.
Although he is no
longer the NWA On Fire Heavyweight
Champion, Apolo still wrestles as if the
strap is still around his waist. Not to
mention he's got to stay sharp for
upcoming North American Heavyweight
title defenses.
Golden Boy Bobby
Robinson. Say the name and you know
it's superior wrestling personified.
The current heavyweight champ continues
to roll over, around, and through all
contenders. How long can the momentum
last? When you're the Golden Boy, it
will seemingly last forever. But, as
they say, every dog has his day.
A question was
posed to me this week. A fan asked if I
think the Great Malaki would be who is
his if it weren't for Cheyenne. Without
so much as a fleeting thought I
answered "yes". Malaki is a veteran
who, in my opinion has never,
doesn't, and will never
need an "equilizer" at ringside in order
to be successful. That said, Cheyenne's
advice and support of Malaki over the
years certainly has not been a
hindrance. Do not for one moment believe
Cheyenne is simply something to look
at. I'd put my money on her in a match
with any woman...or man on the NWA On
Fire roster.
Another hot topic
around here is the formation of a junior
heavyweight division. Boston Bad Boy
Jason Rumble is a three time NWA World
Junior Heavyweight title holder and
there's no reason to believe he couldn't
win it again, if said title is developed
in NWA On Fire. Heck, I think
Rumble would hold his own in the
heavyweight division. With his
determination, discipline and skill,
there's at least one more title
run left in his career.
Be on the lookout
for Cameron Matthews. This feisty
firecracker is as impressive as the day
is long. The entire roster should sit
up and pay attention to this fast-rising
star.
For eight months,
Chico & Nico, The Latin Hit Squad have
dominated the tag team scene and the NWA
On Fire Tag Team Championship. Is there
ANY team that can wrest the titles away
from these two Puerto Rican powerhouses?
That wraps it up
for this week. See you at ringside....
