On Monday, January 29th, "The Man Who Calls It Right Down The Middle", Bill Alfonso appeared on "THE SMACK!", the official show of wrestlingguys.com. Also appearing was Bilvis Wesley, aka Wild Bill Wiles.

Wiles opened the show with Phil Varlese and The Hitman, as well as special guest host, wrestlingguys.com editorialist and NWA Jersey webmaster Joey Mike.

Wiles talked about NOT being at the Little Rock, Arkansas show that many people on the net hypothesized was ECW's final show. Wiles re-affirmed that coming to the ring with beer and partying with the fans is a common ritual when ECW comes to a new town.

Wiles said that he is not under contract with ECW, and has not been, since his first appearance there. He did say he was concerned about the status of the company, since his feeling is that the mid card guys at ECW have less of a chance of catching on then some of the big names do.

Wiles said the "Bilvis Wesley" gimmick was actually thought up by Paul Heyman after the breakup of the Dangerous Alliance. Heyman told Wiles that he felt that Wiles was the only person in the company to pull a gimmick like this off. He enjoys this gimmick, and is having a ball working indy shows until the future of ECW is decided. He is also hopeful that Heyman will allow him to keep the gimmick if ECW folds.

Next up was 20 year veteran Bill Alfonso. Fonzie got right to the point about ECW's status, saying ONLY Paul Heyman knows anything about the future of ECW at this point. Fonzie says he is still under contract. and is also working indy shows until Paul makes the company decision official. He is working for Rick Bassman's UPW this coming Wednesday (Jan. 31st) managing Rob Van Dam in the main event that night.

Bill talked about his many years in the business, and how he got started in Tampa, Fl. He said that managing both Sabu & Van Dam has been the highlight of his career. One of the funnier moments came when he was asked if it was true that he chaperone and agent for the Giant Gonzales when he got to the WWF. Fonzie laughed, and said that it was absolutely true, that he interpreted for him when he first got to WCW, and when Gonzales' contract was up, got him into the WWF by making a call to then WWF booker JJ Dillon. 10 minutes after the call was made, Dillon called back & said McMahon wanted to meet with BOTH of them about a contract, since they came as a package. They signed the same day.

Another funny story was told about Al Snow. Fonzie said that Snow ended up in ECW because Heyman had told Vince McMahon that he could make anyone a star. He begged McMahon to send him someone that McMahon was having a problem getting over, and Vince sent Al Snow to ECW. Six weeks later, Snow was main eventing at ECW shows, and was so over with the fans that McMahon decided to send other stars to ECW.

Fonzie said that he knew that many of the ECW workers are moving on at this point to other big promotions, or working the indys. He said he understood, since many of them have families to feed. He does think, however, that some may be making bad career moves in their haste to exit ECW.

The Sandman: "When I first got to ECW, I had just come from the WWF, and I was used to wearing the best clothes, living the good life......and I walk into the ECW office for the first time, and here is this OBNOXIOUS, LOUD, beer drinking, cigarette smoking guy sitting there, and I asked Nancy Sullivan (Woman) who the hell this guy is, and she tells me he's a really nice guy......he's one of my best friends today. I take care of his condo here in Florida.......I slept with his wife!! Well, I didn't have sex with her, just slept next to her!"

Rhino: "Here's another example of a guy that Paul E. made......this kid had a lot of talent, had studied wrestling in Europe, and Paul took this kid's talent and made him a star.....he has a long career ahead of him."

The Pitbulls: "Great guys, I'm still friends with them both. They stay in great shape, and everybody is STILL missing the boat on these guys."

The Public Enemy: "I don't understand what happened to them. I'm not sure WHO they work for now, or if at all. When they were here, they used to get the biggest pops, with people doing the double hand wave. I wish them well, whatever they're doing".

We ran out of time, but Fonzie agreed to come back for another guest spot next week, and mentioned the possibility of bringing the "Whole F'n Show" Rob Van Dam with him.
