Pro Wrestling Unplugged @ The Animal House
3230 Collins ST, Philadelphia, PA
http://www.prowrestlingunplugged.com

This past Friday, PWU’s “Fool’s Gold” set the tone for things to come in not just PWU, but wrestling in the northeast.

--Things started off with Mana the Polynesian Warrior defeating the debuting Mike Kruel. Both men worked the crowd well & proved to be top notch competitors. Finish saw Kruel attempt a high cross body from the top rope, Mana caught him in a huge Samoan Drop and scored the pinfall victory. Mana is on a tear throughout the Eastern Seaboard.

--Ricky Landell defeated Cheech w/ Chung & Cloudy. Both students showed alot of charisma & really know how to take control of a crowd. Old school style match, with a new age flavor, the fans ate it up. Cheech & Cloudy (DeVito's Students) are progressing by leaps & bounds, & Landell can only be viewed as a prize Blue Chip protégé by Mr. Corino.

--Bill Apter came out "Apter's Alley" featuring “The King of Old School” Steve Corino. Apter asked Steve why he chose PWU, who responded talking about Homicide & how there was someone special lined up to take out Homicide. This brought out Corporal Robinson. Steve offered Corp the big "20 payday" to make sure that Homicide doesn’t make it to ref the main event. Corp told Corino to "take your $20 & shove it where Paul Heyman F*cked you for four years". Robinson told Steve to do his own dirty work & Steve ended the interview saying that he would do just that.

--Tri State Tag Titles champions Drew Blood & Devon Moore retained against All Money Is Legal. A high energy, fast paced encounter, Devon & Drew hit some fantastic high flying sequences, while AMIL proved they are a top caliber tag team. AMIL’s innovations are the best in the business. Together this made for the sleeper match of the night.

--E.C.Negro defeated The Grim Reefer. Negro, with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels partner, KC Blade had a classic singles match against Reefer, with some great innovation. Negro proved his status as a great singles wrestler, & Reefer was 100% on his game. Finish saw AMIL run in to form a unit with Blade & Negro. The champs, Drew & Devon hit the ring next on AMIL. This brought out Scott Cardinal & Jerk Jackson, starting a melee all revolving around the hunger for the Tri State Titles. Dr. Don Bootz then came out of the curtain & called out his Salvation boys. Out came JT Moses & TB1 Judas Gray, targeting Cardinal & Jackson, resulting in a brawl to the back. This left Negro, Blade & AMIL in the ring standing over fallen champions of Moore & Blood. Negro cut a very pro-AWA promo and called out PWU co-owners to show up to an AWA show. PWU vs. AWA is really heating up big time.

--Homicide & Corporal Robinson went to a double DQ when both men punched Senior Official Mike Kehner. Kehner, using his own discretion, threw the match out. This match was brutal. Metal Chair shots sounded like gunshots. Corp & Homicide are two of the hardest hitting men in wrestling today. The sheer brutality cannot be described & must be seen on DVD. After the match Corporal got on the microphone stating he & Homicide don’t have problems with each other, they just wanted to give the fans one hell of a match. They shook hands & agreed to watch each others back for the rest of the night.

--Jay Lethal, Azriel, & Insane Dragon defeated Mark'd in a Six Man Lucha Style Match. Unfortunately, Deranged wasn't able to make the show & Ashe Samuels was not cleared by the doctor to wrestle, so Mark'd was represented by Little Dixie, Archadia, & the crippled Timothy B. Idol. Shining star of the match goes to Insane Dragon. Dragon is for sure one of the most underrated wrestlers in the world. An overall impressive match, Lethal, Azriel & Dixie, along with Insane Dragon really are the future of pro wrestling. Archadia also made quite an impression. Finish saw Tim B. Idol tap out to the Figure Four Leglock.

*Rockin' Rebel vs. The Human Tornado went to a no contest. This match was a "April Fools Day" ruse concocted by Rebel and Tornado. PWU annouced a working relationship with Pro Wrestling WAR (Tornado's home federation) in California at this event. Rebel kicked off the relationship with all the black jokes you can think of. Tornado w/ Marcus Dowling came out first & ran Rebel down for his racist humor, saying they werent gonna take it any more. This brought out "H- Bomb" along with his ladies (Helle's Belles). H-Bomb is Helter Skelter doing a 'Malibu's Most Wanted" gimmick. H-Bomb really popped the crowd with his funny vocals, and pledged his support to Tornado. Out comes Rebel, Greg Spitz and Danny Rose in full hooded regalia. Rebel tells Tornado he has peace offerings for him so they don’t have to wrestle. Rebel offered Juicy Watermelon & KFC Fried Chicken, Tornado was excited about the chicken but Marcus was able to persuade Tornado to not take the bait. Rebel then brought out Monk, the Animal House Gorilla, as a third peace offering to Tornado. Rebel told some classic racist jokes & was attacked by Tornado to jump start the match. H-bomb ended up through a table, sending watermelon & fried chicken everywhere in the Animal House Arena. Finally, Rebel & Tornado embraced & informed the fans this was indeed one big APRIL FOOLS JOKE..."Fool's Gold" if you will.

--Jack Evans defeated Trent Acid in one of the craziest matches in recent memory. Some fantastic opening sequences from both men, Matrix-like sequences performed with incredible precision & timing. The match grew more & more fast paced, seeing Trent hit a reverse suplex from the apron to the floor on Jack. Jack proved to be THE aerial king. Trent got on the mic & challenged Jack to finish the match in the streets of Philadelphia. Both men ended up on Allegheney Ave outside of the Animal House. Ashe Samuels ran over Trent with his CAR... TWICE! Broken windshield, broken windshield wipers & more round out the list of damage done to Ashe's car. Jack attempted to light himself & Acid on fire before executing a 450 from the roof of Ashe's car, but the rain cancelled that idea. The ROH cameras followed the action outside so the dvd will have ALL of the Allegheney Ave. footage. Match ended up back in the arena. Jack took a sick Yakuza Kick from Trent, turning him inside out & back again. Jack scored the rare victory over Trent Acid with his patented "630" & showed that persistence pays off in the end. Jack Evans is PWU through and through. An amazing talent, Evans is the future of professional wrestling.

--With Homicide as ref, Steve Corino defeated Tom Carter in a wrestling clinic. These two mat technicians traded move after devastating move, to highlight their grappling techniques. Homicide called the encounter right down the middle. Carter had Corino in a stretch plum & as Corino was going for the tap, out came Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere to pull ref Homicide out of the ring so he couldn’t call for the bell. Trent & Johnny worked over Homicide on the outside. Referee Mike Kehner ran in & counted the three as Corino defeated Carter with a series of brainbusters. Corino, Trent & Johnny worked over Homicide and Carter. Corporal Robinson makes the big save. Johnny Kashmere grabs the mic outside of the ring. Kashmere cuts a promo saying that himself, Corino & Acid are the "sharpest kinves in the drawer" & belong together as a set. Kashmere then challenged Homicide & Corp to an "Out for Blood" match on May 20th & proclaimed their new team name as "The BackSeat MEN". Also, mentioned was made of The BackSeatz former mentor Big 80s Donnie B, where this will lead is unknown at this time. BackSeats have really embraced their roots as they return as a tag team at The Crazy Eight on May 20th.
