Ron Killings on Between the Ropes Recap

This week on Between the Ropes, brought to you by TNA Impact Wrestling on Fox Sports Net, Fritz, Dickerman, and Vito DeNucci welcomed former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Ron ‘The Truth’ Killings to talk about his recent run as NWA World Champion and the new Impact show being taped every Thursday at Universal Studios Florida.

The interview began with talk about the start of the Impact show.  He said that the locker room reaction was overwhelming and the wrestlers were pumped to put on a good show.   Ron was asked about how he has returned to the title picture after being on the side for a little while.  Ron said that he was looking for the right position to come back, and he is glad to be in the NWA Title picture.

Talk moved on to the six sided ring, and he said that it is different to look at, but it is easy to adapt to the product.  Ron was asked about the crowd and how it affected his performance.  He said that a good crowd gets the wrestler more into their matches.

Ron was asked about his second run as the World Champion, and how it was unexpected by many.  He said that he had a good feeling about getting back the title, and he is looking forward to being a three time champ.  He was not surprised with the length of his second title run.

Ron was asked about the morale now compared to a few months ago.  He said that there is a new heat and intensity and the Orlando crowd has done a lot to make things better in the locker room.

Talk moved on to Ron’s rap career.  He is working on his second album and is in talks to sign a record contract.  The new album will be more ‘mainstream’. 

Ron was asked about his work on a national stage in WWE, and he was asked about how some of the wrestlers who have not been on national television before.  He fells that TNA has the right mix to have a good show.

Ron was asked about the recent actions of Bradshaw, and his backstage ‘politicking’, and ‘wrestling court’.  He said that there are the veterans who tell the younger wrestlers to do the right thing.  Ron said that the people who keep control are BG James, Konnan, Glenn Gilberti, Raven, Shane Douglas, and Jeff Jarrett.

Ron feels that Three Live Kru will be doing some things to get him a title shot against Jeff Jarrett real soon.
