8/16 RAW results from Lexington, KY

Hurricane and Super Hero In Training Rosey beat Rodney Mack and Mark Henry
Hurricane and Rosey come out to a great pop, while Mack and Henry got mild heat. All four men were interacting with the crowd. Everyone loved Rosey! This was a great match to kick off tonight's program.

Scotty Too Hotty defeated Nick Dinsmore
Dinsmore came out to no reaction. The Fink then introduced the next guy as someone's who is wrestling his first match here tonight in Lexington. Unless you've read the Evansville report, you had no clue it would be Scotty Too Hotty. Scotty came out to a huge pop, especially when he hit his WORM finisher.

Test defeated Spike Dudley
Spike was totally over with the crowd. Test of course got heat, but to my amazement, he actually had something going on tonight…I can't exactly sure what it was, but it kept me watching. Spike did a scary yet cool tumble over Test, but Test won with the boot.

Mark Jindrak and Garrison Cade defeated Steven Richards (with Victoria) and Rico (with MISS Jackie)
Rico had on these awful neon green tiger print wrestling tights. With the green and Steven Richard's Barbie pink shorts, the 80's must be coming back. This match goes for the Most Entertaining Award. Rico kept the crowd in stitches. There was a lot of butt grabbing and some, ahem, sexual references, but we won't go there. Towards the end, MISS Jackie goes to comfort Steven and Victoria pulls Jackie off. CATFIGHT!!! Crowd totally ignores what's going on in the ring to hoot at the ladies, as Mark Jindrak and Cade team up with that super high dropkick for the pin.

Randy Orton (with Ric Flair) defeated Scott Steiner (with Slutty - oops, I mean, Stacy Keibler)
Like in the Evansville report, the crowd popped huge when they heard the intro to the Evolution music - it does sound a lot like HHH's! Ric Flair ragged on the Kentucky Wildcats saying that the Florida Gators could kick our butts. Steiner also came out to the pop but I'm not sure it was for him. Boring match, I cheered on for Orton just because everyone else was cheering for Steiner and his cheerleader. I even yelled, "Kick his freak lovin' ass Randy Orton!" and got a couple of snickers in response. Anyways, Orton wins with the RKO.

HIGHLIGHT REEL
Jericho comes out to a mixed reaction. He rags on the crowd calling Lexington a "piss hole" town. He rags on some kids sign that says, "Y2J is not the king of bling bling, he's the king of the small ding-ding." Eric Bischoff is his special guest. Bischoff says that we in Kentucky have a lot to be proud of with the Horse Racing and breeding, and then was rewarded with cheap heat with calling us a bunch of inbreeders. Blabs on saying that Nash will not be here tonight - Him and Jericho kept goofing up by saying that the hair vs. hair match will be tomorrow @ RAW - hmm, I didn't know RAW came on Sundays?
Anyways, Nash's music hits and here comes out to the biggest pop of the night. Nash wants a hair vs. hair match tonight but of course, knew that it wasn't going to happen. This segment is pretty much the same as the Evansville report - geez, I hate knowing everything.

Four Way Women's Title Match - Molly Holly (champ) vs. Gail Kim vs. Ivory vs. Jacqueline
Jackie is eliminated in less than a half a minute. Gail Kim is not too far behind. Ivory and Molly put up a pretty good fight, when Gail Kim distracts Ivory, Victoria slides in to clock Ivory, and Molly wins to retain. After the match, Molly Holly, Victoria, and MISS Jackie are stomping down Ivory when Jacqueline runs in to make the save. After clearing out the heel divas, Ivory and Jacqueline pose for the crowd.

Intercontinental Title Match - Christian (champ) vs. Val Venis
Boring as hell match. I actually got sleepy. Christian won with the Unprettier.

3-Team Elimination Tag Team Match for the Tag Team Championships
Lance Storm and Goldust vs. Dudleys vs. La Resistance
I feel so sorry for Lance Storm! Every time he would get in the ring, there was a "boring" chant. He finally was won over when he mimicked Buh Buh Ray Dudley's punch-punch-wave-your-hands-around-grab-your-crotch-and-then-punch-him-again move. Immediately, Storm got a 3D and was pinned. The rest of the match was okay, but it was just too damn long. You know how the story goes: La Resistance gets the win with the flag shot.

We left during the Main Event - which was RVD vs. Kane in a steel cage - because we were just too bored and decided to leave early to avoid the huge traffic jam after the show was over.

All in all - no Austin. That might have been a good thing because there was not but just one or two "what" chants going on and they were small. There was no Goldberg (of course, because he's too good to do house shows), no HHH (not that I really cared, but still), no Trish and no Shawn Michaels. The card wasn't too impressive and the audio was really super loud!

I hope that they improve on this whole program come next summer when WWE visits Lexington again.

Just got in from the matches at Rupp Arena. I'm bushed so results will be short form with a couple of notes.

1) The Hurricane and Rosey beat Rodney Mack and Mark Henry when Rosey pinned Mack after a combination Samoan drop/neckbreaker by himself and the Hurricane. The heroes were major league over with the crowd. Mark Henry has dropped some serious weight since he last appeared on WWE TV.

2)Scotty Too Hotty beat Nick Dinsmore after the Worm. Short match that saw Dinsmore, a big face in OVW, play the heel to Scotty.

3) Test beat Spike Dudley after a STIFF big boot to the face.

4) Mark Jindrak and Lance Cade beat Steven Richards and Rico when Jindrak pinned Rico following a dropkick out of a Cade elevated hold. This one broke down when Victoria and Miss Jackie started brawling on the outside, which caused Richards to bail to break it up, leaving Rico to take the pin. Rico is hilarious in his new gimmick by the way and had the crowd in stitches at points.

5) Randy Orton beat Scott Steiner with the RKO. Test ran out and interfered while the referee was tied up with Stacey Keibler and Ric Flair on the outside. Even in defeat, Stacey and Steiner were good to the crowd, giving each side of the arena a good look at Stacey's rear.

Next was the Highlight Reel. Jericho came out and ran down the local crowd. He then introduced Eric Bischoff as his special guest. The duo ran the crowd down some more and then crowed about how Kevin Nash was not in the Arena. Of course, this cued Nash's music. A newly blonde Nash came down and confronted the two, which led to Jericho attacking him. Eventually, both Bisch and Jericho took Jackknifes.

6) Molly Holly (she's even more beautiful in person) retained the women's title over Gail Kim, Jacqueline and Ivory in a four way elimination match. Molly pinned Jacqueline first after a top rope powerbomb. Ivory then pinned Gail Kim after a seated face slam. Gail Kim then distracted Ivory, and while the ref was tied up with her Victoria ran in and clocked Ivory allowing Molly to gain the pin. Kim then left while Victoria, Molly and Miss Jackie walloped Ivory until Jacqueline ran back out to make the save.

7) Christian retained the Intercontinental Title by pinning Val Venis after an Arabian Facebuster (Unprettier). Venis looked legitimately injured after the match, although he left under his own power.

8) La Resistance won a triple elimination Tag Team Title match over the Dudley Boyz and Lance Storm and Goldust to retain the titles. The Dudleys eliminated Storm with a 3D, sending he and Goldie to the showers, then were eliminated when Renee Dupree cracked D-Von with the flagpole to score the pin. After the match, the Frenchies set up a table to put D-Von through, but the Dudleys recovered and put Grenier through the table instead.

Intermission

9) Kane pinned RVD after a chokeslam to win the main event cage match. Kane chokeslammed RVD off of the cage for the win.

NOTES

* The arena was about 3/4 full with no sections tarped off.

* The crowd was live all night. The only match to draw a boring chant was the IC Title match.

* The WWE superstars have left a good impression on me over the last month. I went to an OVW TV taping and was fortunate enough to get Molly Holly's autograph. She's actually a somewhat shy and very sweet person. Tonight the Hurricane gave his mask to a young fan at ringside. Later, after the Dudleys put Grenier through the table they brought the same fan into the ring and gave him a piece of the table. They took pictures with him and then D-Von carried him around on his shoulders asking the crowd to give it up for the kid. The Dudleys also went into the crowd after their match and interacted with the fans. The Hurricane and Rosey were also very interactive with the fans on their way to the dressing room. I was seated along the entryway. There was a young fan, probably about 6 or 7 sitting beside me that had hearing aides in both ears: at times he looked as if he could barely hear what was going on. In a classy move, Ivory spotted the kid after she had already passed him on her way back down the entryway after her match. She turned around, came back and gave the kid a kiss on the cheek! He acted embarrassed but I thought it was a nice touch and something he'll probably remember for a long time!

Overall a very enjoyable house show!
