New Japan stars Masahiro Chono, Jushin Liger, Yuji Nagata, and Tiger Mask worked their first U.S. independent show, for Hawaii Championship Wrestling on 7/26 in Kapolei, HI.

Chono won the promotion's title beating Lopaka with the STF in a very good match. Lopaka got on the mic afterward and told the fans not to boo Chono because he was the better man, then he said there would be a rematch. All the wrestlers got in the ring to congratulate Chono. Chono spoke and put over the promotion, Lopaka, the crew, Hawaii, and the title itself.

Liger & Mask teamed to go to a double countout with tag team champions Hawaiian Blood. Another strong match. Fans booed the finish, which had all of them being counted out after a series of dives to the outside.

Nagata teamed with Kenjiro Katahira to beat the Nightmarchers. Nagata got one of the Marchers, Akua, to tap to the crossface. The Nightmarchers offered a handshake afterward, but Nagata and Katahira refused it and walked off.

Don Muraco, who is the promotion's commissioner, was there and did an angle where he again refused an offer from local heel Mr. Oki to buy the company. He then gave Oki an atomic drop.

One report estimated attendance at around 400.
