World Wrestling Entertainment may have booked the WCW Invasion into the ground, but a new invasion is in the planning stages - an International Invasion.

Pro Wrestling NOAH, Mitsuharu Misawa's promotion are finalizing a deal to begin airing a 30 minute NOAH event in Great Britain on Sky Digital. The promotion recently added Doug Williams, a British worker who many feel is a tremendous performer, to their gaijin talent, and it makes logical sense he will be a featured part of their European television.

NOAH is in the midst of an expansion internationally as their show will soon be airing in Singapore and the Philippines, and they are preparing for an eventual cable TV penetration on a new cable station based out of Los Angeles (possibly the much talked about combat channel, according to www.Puroresufan.com) which makes sense given that many of NOAH's gaijin talent are based out of the West Coast United States.

Zero-One, headed by Shinya Hashimoto is planning a pair of shows in Valley Forge, PA for September with the events planned as Samurai TV and PPV tapings for Japan. The promotion is waiting for two back to back dates to open up with the venue before making an official announcement. Steve Corino and his Premier Wrestling Federation in PA will be responsible for much of the local promotion once the trigger is pulled on the shows. The PWF has featured a number of Zero-One workers on events in recent months, including Masato Tanaka and Shinjiro Ohtani.

New Japan Pro Wrestling, meanwhile is looking for American workers to train and learn their style (and what that style is seems to change by the week) in what appears to be step one in running shows in the United States, a longtime Antonio Inoki goal. They recently solicited performers to send videos. TV Asahi is also currently negotiating to bring New Japan's World Pro Wrestling TV show to Britain as well.

While not a major factor in the Mainstream, Lucha Libre promotion AAA runs under the name LLL in the United States and draws excellent crowds (actually second to only the WWE nationally) to a mostly Hispanic audience. Whether the Japanese promotions look to eventually copy that promoting pattern, going for the ethnic audience, or attempt to market their unique products to an American audience remains to be seen.

The building blocks are in place for a number of different international companies to make themselves a factor in the United States wrestling scene, but how that will affect independent promotions or WWE itself, much less make the move a profitable one, remains a question mark.
