GLOBAL NOTES
Winnipeg independent worker John Dacamara lost an appeal for a 30 month jail sentence in regard to a cocaine trafficking conviction last October. Dacamura worked as Johnny Wise Guy on some local independents. Damamura claimed he needed to sell narcotics to afford to turn his utilities on at home after they were turned off while he was away on tour. He had been arrested and fined for a similar charge in 2001.
There has been a lot of talk about Toronto, Ontario hosting Summerslam this year. I do believe that is the case and there will be an announcement in a few months.
Martha Hart's book The Life and Death of Owen Hart was released via American book stores last week. It's a tremendous read. I had a chance to read it when it was first released in Canada last year and I felt this complete sadness reading the book as this woman's life was changed forever. It's possibly the most damning book you could ever read about WWE and gives you a really different insight into the surroundings and aftermath of Owen Hart's passing.
Freestyle Championship Wrestling did its best crowd to date on 1/24, drawing 400-450 fans for their show at the Effenaar in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Complete results of the show saw New Blood Wrestling (Vito & Rico) beat The Bull & Destructo....FCW Lightweight Champion X-Dream beat Eddy de la combe & T.Quila in an elimination bout which saw T.Quila eliminate Eddy, followed by X-Dream eliminating T.Quila to win....Hate beat Adonis....Eurostars European Champion Bernard Vandamme fought Cybernic Machine to a double countout....Salvatore Bellomo defeated Mad Cow....FCW European Champion Adam Polak beat Steve Taurus....Doug Williams defeated CZW's Z-Barr....Rodney Faverus beat Micheal Ripp....Long and Thick (Bas & Mot van Kunder) & Mr. Vain (Bull's ''Twin'' Brother) beat The UK Pitbulls & Dominator
Steve Corino will face Low Ki for ICW-UK on 4/23 at the DL Centre in Darwin, Great Britain. Also scheduled for the show are Jonny Storm and Jorge Castano.
The six-sided ring match at MLW's 2/13 event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida will begin a storyline to bring in performers from Ultimo Dragon's Toryumon promotion.
