CULLEN LOOKS AT THE IRONMAN MA

After yet another long hiatus I am back with the September 2003 installment of "Random Thoughts". Again, my apologies for taking so long, but life has been hectic.

Apparently, last nights Unforgiven pay-per-view was a very good one. It's nice to see that Vinnie Mac is giving people their money's worth for a change. Raw has been a pretty solid product but has suffered with mediocre story lines over the past few months. Hopefully tonight's Raw will show a sign of big changes and good things to come for the Raw brand.

I recently had a chance (for the first time) to watch a NWA-TNA pay-per-view. NWA-TNA has some great talent but needs to develop a bigger following. As good as the matches were, the crowd barely seemed to care. There is just something so wrong with watching Sting wrestle in front of 200 people.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage recently conducted an online interview where he had a lot to say about his upcoming "rap" album, a possible return against Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania and several other subjects. One of the comments that Savage made was that "The Honky Tonk Man has no in-ring ability" and basically said that HTM also has an ego. I can't help but agree with Savage about HTM.

Honky Tonk Man is also one of many wrestlers who also come out on the net and bash other wrestlers because their short lived careers no longer have any meaning. I was personally sick when I read that HTM was bashing his own cousin (Jerry Lawler) when Lawler was at one of the most difficult times in his life. Personally I could care less if we ever see HTM on television again.

The "Iron Man Match" between Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle last week on Smackdown was a great one. It seems that Lesnar and Angles chemistry in the ring is virtually flawless. I must say that I was somewhat shocked to see the World Title change hands on a Smackdown as opposed to a pay-per-view.

I just got done reading Hulk Hogan's book. It was a great read. I enjoyed it so much that I stayed up until 5 in the morning to finish reading it. I also recently read The Rock's auto-biography and it was a good book as well. In one part of the book, Rocky proclaims that "WWE does not use racism and violence against women in their story lines". Has The Rock watched his own television shows in the last 10 years?

The word going around is that Booker T will return to Raw around October 3rd. I think Booker is one of the federations top performers and more than deserves a title shot against new WWE "Paper Champion" Bill Goldberg. Same goes for Rob Van Dam.

I think Lita's return last week on Raw really helped spice up interest in the Women's Division. I must give credit to every WWE "Diva" for working their tails off and truly making their mark in the federation as legitimate wrestlers. I can only see the Women's division growing from this point on.

That's all for now. Be sure to drop me an e-mail at BillyC4w@email.com and check out my official site for pictures, non-wrestling commentary and more at http://billy_c2.tripod.com
