NXT Takeover is upon us once again and this time the big show airs from the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas. Unlike in previous times, NXT Takeover San Antonio falls a bit short in terms of hype as the other shows but the card still looks to be amazing. The Takeover shows have been better and better with each show, big entrances and great finishes are what NXT Takeover shows are known for. Below are my predictions and what I think will happen on Saturday night live from San Antonio.

Roderick Strong vs Andrade “Cien” Almas

Basically a great match to hopefully start the show with, but not much of a story here. Since the four way #1 contenders a few weeks ago, Almas has been taking out the participants in that match. Strong will have his first NXT Takeover match since coming to NXT a short time ago and with Austin Aries’s eye injury, we may see Strong have a strong babyface run.

Royster Prediction: Roderick Strong

NXT Tag Team Championship Match
#D.I.Y.(Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano)© vs The Authors of Pain w/ Paul Ellering

Ciampa & Johnny Wrestling have been on a good run since topping The Revival and capturing the NXT Tag Team Championships. I don’t see them retaining the titles in this match because their opponents have yet to lose and have beaten teams in dominant fashion. Akam & Rezar will use there strength and height advantage wear down the champs and take the NXT Tag Team Championships

Royster Prediction: The Authors of Pain win the NXT Tag Team Championship

Eric Young vs Tye Dillinger

I really want to see Dillinger win this match because I really think he could be money down the line for NXT even though he’s already been in development for quite a while. As much as I want it to happen I also think Eric Young and his buddies Sanity are poised to take over NXT. Look for Young to put the boots to Dillinger, possibly some interference from Sanity but Dillinger will win the match.

Royster Prediction: Tye Dillinger

NXT Women’s Championship Match
Fatal Four Way
Asuka© vs Billie Kay vs Peyton Royce vs Nikki Cross

I think this match could be very interesting because Asuka has been on a tear since she came to NXT. Asuka’s beaten them all, just recently beating the returning legend Mickie James at NXT Takeover Toronto. The tandem of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce have been a pain for Asuka with the blind attacks and double teams so its going to be fun to see what Asuka has in store for these two. This leads to Nikki Cross, as part as the new terror Sanity we have seen Cross get physical in the ring and she has had her eye on Asuka for a while. Theres been a few times where we have seen Cross stare down Asuka and seem to have no fear unlike the reset of her opponents. I also believe this is the biggest threat to Asuka as she can lose the title without even being pinned. With that said I think Asuka will retain and have a program with Ember Moon or a singles feud with Nikki Cross at some point.

Royster Prediction: Asuka retains the NXT Women’s Championship

NXT Championship Match
Shinsuke Nakamura© vs Bobby Roode

Again this is a very tough call to make because you can make the claim for one outcome and the other. Anyone watching NXT knows about Nakamura and his battles with Finn Balor, Sami Zayn and of course former champion Samoa Joe. With the way booking goes with NXT I can surely see Nakamura winning but afterwards who else is there? On the other hand we have Bobby Roode getting his first shot at the NXT Championship and he too has captivated fans with catchy entrance music and poses, make no mistake he can bring it. As much as I would love to see the King of Strong Style win this match I think he would be a better fit on Raw or Smackdown Live. Also I think a future rematch between Bobby Roode as champion taking on Tye Dillinger would be amazing, but for that to happen Shinsuke would have to fall. Going with my head on this one again and ill say the Glorious One will fall short to Shinsuke Nakamura, Shinsuke keeps the Title.

Royster Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura retains the NXT Championship
