WELCOME TO 205 LIVE!!!

Tonight marks the inaugural broadcast of the WWE Network’s newest show, 205 Live. A special welcome video airs highlighting the special skills and fast-paced action we are sure to see in this show. The opening video airs and we are welcomed to the show by a three-man announce table, Mauro Ranallo, Corey Graves and, at least for the near future, Austin Aries. They hype the Cruiserweight Championship for later in the show.

We go to the stage where the entire 205 Live roster is standing and is introduced one by one. Next, the announce team introduces an introductory video of the Bollywood Boys Girv and Harv Sihra. They talk about watching hockey, WWE and Bollywood growing up and how proud their grandfather is of their success. They make their entrance for the opening match of the night. Their opponents, Drew Gulak and Tony Nese make their entrance.

Match 1: Harv and Gurv Sihra (The Bollywood Boys) vs. Drew Gulak and Tony Nese

Much like the CWC, the referee makes the four men shake hands before the bell. The Bollywood Boys take the early advantage working over Nese. Nese is able to tag in Gulak who gains the upper hand for his team following a dropkick. Gulak is able to get a two count before tagging in Nese who locks one of the Boys in a body scissors.

Nese and Gulak are able to maintain control until Harv Sihra is able to create some space after a neck breaker. Gurv gets the tag and goes after both Gulak and Nese. He is able to run them together and stun them enough to go for a pin but only gets a two count. A diving cross body on Nese results in a near-fall that Gulak was able to break up. The Bollywood Boys are able to keep their opponents off balance long enough to Bollywood dance in opposite corners to tune up and hit Gulak with a double super-kick for the three count.

Winners: Harv and Gurv Sihra (The Bollywood Boys)

Gulak and Nese are interviewed are their way from the ring. They were asked what happened. Gulak rambled about Bollywood not being a real place and Nese yelled that the ropes were greasy and that they should not be expected to perform in those conditions.

A Noam Dar introduction video was shown. The video highlights seemed to focus the in-ring action on his knee bar finisher.

Tom Phillips interviewed Brian Kendrick in the locker room. Phillips asked Kendrick how he feels about his chances against Rich Swann tonight. Kendrick told Phillips that, if he is a betting man, he should bet on him like Mick Foley when he bet the whole division on him. He praised Swann’s high-flying style but said that eventually he will make a mistake a crash and Kendrick will be there to pick up the pieces.

TJ Perkins startled Kendrick by interrupting his interview and reminding him that he is owed a rematch that he has yet to receive. Perkins said he will hunt down Kendrick to get his rematch but for right now, all he has to say to him is “Good Luck”

A Gran Metalik introductory video aires then the show heads to commercial.

Back from commercial Ariya Daivari makes his entrance for the next match followed by Jack Gallagher. Graves and Ranallo seem excited to see Gallagher while Aries seems unimpressed.

Match 2: Ariyah Daivari vs. Jack Gallagher

This match was a showcase for Gallagher from the opening bell as he was able to show his very unique mat wrestling abilities. Early on, Gallagher was able to spin out of everything Daivari tried to hold him in. Daivari attempted to whip Gallaher to the corner but Jack caught himself by doing a handstand on the middle rope to the delight of the fans. Gallagher was able to get Daivari on the canvas and bar both an arm and a leg and was able to comb out his mustache while keeping Daivari tied up.

Gallagher was able to tie up Daivari again in the center of the ring. Gallagher tied Daivari into a human knot. Jack tied him up and stood in the corner and watched Daivari try to untie himself. Daivari was stuck and looked like a human pretzel. Gallagher finally set him free with a swift kick to the behind.

Daivari was angered by the whole sequence and opened up the strikes on Gallagher. Daivari nails a rolling elbow in the center of the ring but Gallagher countered with a head butt to the chest sending Daivari to the corner. Gallagher followed up with a running dropkick in the corner for the three count.

Winner: Jack Gallagher

The broadcasters threw it to another introductory video, this one of Lince Dorado. Dorado talked of being Puerto Rican and about representing Lucha Libre on 205 Live. The show takes a commercial break.

We return to see Kendrick making his entrance for his title defense. While Kendrick makes his way to the ring, an introductory video is aired for Rich Swann. Swann’s video highlighted his struggles after losing both his parents and how wrestling saved him from going down a dark path. He made his dancing entrance.

Match 3: Cruiserweight Championship Match: The Brian Kendrick (Champion) vs. Rich Swann

Kendrick took control at the bell and controlled the early offense. Swann was able to avoid Kendrick’s finisher and tried to catch Kendrick with a kick. Kendrick was able to avoid Swann’s kick and roll to the floor. Swann keeps up the pressure by catching him with a kick then flipping off the barricade onto Kendrick. Swann gets Kendrick inside the ring and tries for a pin but only gets a two count.

Swann catches Kendrick with a nice suplex but Kendrick is able to stay in the match. As they are fighting for the upper hand on the ropes, Kendrick is able to catch Swann with a neck breaker on the turnbuckle. Swann fell to the floor and looked knocked out but was able to just beat the count and get back into the ring.

Kendrick followed up with a suplex and covered Swann but Swann powered out at two. Kendrick executed another suplex and went for his Captain’s Hook submission. Swann was able to block the move by getting his hand inside Kendrick’s hands. Kendrick was able to roll the move into a straight jacket. Swann escaped the move and caught Kendrick with a Michinoku Driver for a two count.

Kendrick tried to come back and regain control but ran into a big boot from Swann. Swann set Kendrick up for the standing 450 splash but Brian gets the knees up to block the move. Kendrick went for the Captain’s Hook again but Swann made it to the ropes to force the break. Swann recovered and tried to lock Kendrick into something on the ropes but Kendrick bit Swann to break up the attempt.

Kendrick tried to end it when he set Swann up for Sliced Bread No.2 off the second rope. Swann kicked out leaving Kendrick stunned as the crowd chanted, “This is Awesome!!” Swann is able to recover and nail Kendrick with three roundhouse kicks knocking Kendrick loopy and allowing Swann to score the pin

Winner and New Cruiserweight Champion: Rich Swann

Swann was interviewed in the ring about winning the title. The crowd chanted, “You Deserve It!!” Swann shared his win with the WWE Universe and said he knows his late mother is watching. He says even though she is not here in person, he knows she is here in spirit. Swann raised the belt as he said, “This one’s for you mom.” He continued to celebrate in the ring.

Tom Phillips interviewed Brian Kendrick on the “heartbreaking” loss. Kendrick said heartbreaking doesn’t begin to describe the loss. He said this show was created for him. He said he wasn’t just wrestling Swann. Kendrick blamed Phillips and TJ Perkins for playing mind games with him. Kendrick pointed to Swann, said that his title reign won’t last and walked away. Swann continued to celebrate in the ring to close the show.
