On tonight’s episode of World Pro Wrestling Returns weOn tonight’s episode of World Pro Wrestling Returns we get to see Hiroki Goto battle IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada as well as NEVER Open-weight Champion Katsuyori Shibata take on Tomohiro Ishii from New Japan Pro Wrestling’s New Beginning in Osaka 2016.

IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match
Hiroki Goto vs Kazuchika Okada(c)

Both men come Center ring for a tie which Okada wins but Goto quickly reverses into a snap mare then chin lock. Okada tries to counter but Goto gets him back down to the mat. After a forced break, Goto kicks Okada in the mid section then lays two big strokes to Okada’s face. Okada gets back in control with a spring board face kick dropping Goto, Okada works the neck of Goto with elbow strikes. Okada puts Goto into a face lock of his own, the action is very tense so far in the match. Okada drops Goto then runs the ropes, Goto gets up and follows Okada with a big lariat dropping the champ. The action goes outside where Goto runs the champion into the steel guardrail then throws Okada back in the ring. Goto drops an elbow then kicks Okada in the mid section followed by another kick to the back. Goto hits back elbows to Okada in the corner but red shoes comes in to break the action. Okada races to attack Goto and Irish whips him off the ropes but Goto scores with a shoulder block. Goto then goes back to the seated chin lock, Okada fights away but Goto score with a front kick to Okada’s chest. Goto scores with a brain buster for a two count, Goto gets Okada back in the corner but Okada counters with a flapjack taking out Goto. Okada hits two lariat then a big boot to Goto, Okada hits a DDT then scored with the running uppercut for a two count. Okada body slams Goto then heads to the top rope, Goto counters when Okada leaps and Okada gets blasted with a lariat then kicked in the back. Goto tries the Ushigiroshi but Okada blocks it, Goto then hits a modified version for a two count. Goto tries his next move but Okada counters into a neck breaker of his own, both men are down. As they rise both men trade shots to the chest until Goto head buts Okada but Okada counters with the Heavy Rain slam for a two count. Okada goes up to the top rope and scores with the drop kick to Goto for another two count. Okada body slams Goto again then goes back up to the top rope and hits the diving elbow drop. Okada then does the Rainmaker Pose but Goto counters with and arm bar, Okada rolls over on Goto for a two count. Goto gets up then hits the Ushigiroshi neck breaker then back to the arm bar but Okada gets to the bottom rope for a break. Goto blast Okada with two kicks to the chest then a third that drops him. Goto then hits the Shouten(side slam) for a two count, Goto then tries a brain buster but Okada blocks, Goto then puts Okada on the top ropes the super Ushigiroshi from the top rope for a two count. Goto then hits the Shouten Kai(sit out suplex) for another two count. The crowd cheers in amazement after that move to Okada. Goto gets up in disbelief, he grabs Okada and tries for another Shouten Kai but Okada somehow counters into the Rain Maker(short arm lariat). Both men rise to their feet trading Fore arms to the chest. Okada blasts Goto with two uppercuts dropping Goto, Okada hits a knee to the gut then tries the Rain Maker again but Goto gets away. Okada then hits a German suplex followed by a big drop kick to Goto off the ropes. Okada goes for the Rain Maker but Goto head butts Okada twice to stop him. Okada holds on but Goto tries another counter but Okada hits a lariat dropping Goto. Okada sees victory and picks up Goto one more time and hits the Rain Maker again and Okada gets the big win.

As the bell sounds both men lock Center ring then Shibata forces the action to the ropes, Ishii tries to get in a cheap shot but Shibata says to bring it on. Ishii lays in with a few Fore arms as does Shibata, Ishii tries to kick Shibata in the chest but Katsuyori moves away and plants his boot in the face of Ishii. Both men come face to face again and Shibata point to his head as if he wants more, Ishii lands a Fore Arm then Shibata does the same, these two would trade shots back and forth until Shibata scores with a snap mare followed by a strong kick to the back of Ishii. Shibata then toys with his opponent by kicking Ishii on the head playfully until Ishii gets pissed and stand toe to toe again with Katsuyori. Ishii then land a big suplex but Shibata shakes it off, Shibata then does the same to Ishii but this time he just shrugs it off like Shibata. Ishii delivers another brain buster and this time Shibata is down. Ishii plants a few right hands before getting Shibata in the corner for more strikes then a kick to the face. Ishii chops Shibata in the chest then runs and catches him with a big lariat. Shibata is on the mat and he urges Ishii to keep going so Ishii begins to lay more heavier chops to a seated Shibata. Ishii begging to lay more shots in to a downed Shibata in the corner but Shibata comes back with a viscous chop to Ishiis throat. Shibata goes back in the corner and pounces on Ishii with a running boot to the face, Shibata then returns the favor to Ishii by dropping him in the corner and deliver the running drop kick to Ishii’s face. Shibata goes for a brain buster but it gets bollocked by Ishii, Tomohiro tries to come back but Shibata scores with the brain buster for a two count. Shibata then goes on the offensive with standing kicks to Ishii’s face, Ishii then gets fired up and the two go face to face again with showing test of strength. Ishii tries a lariat that Shibata shakes off, Ishii tries again but no effect as Shibata comes back with another boot to the face. Two more big boots from Katsuyori but when Shibata goes back for more he gets clobbered by Ishii with a big lariat. Ishii gets Shibata up to the top rope and drops him down with a super brain buster for a two count. Ishii then power bombs Shibata into the mat for a two count but as Ishii let’s up, Shibata locks a choke hold to Ishii, Tomihiro makes it to the ropes. Shibata goes for the strikes to the chest then scores with a Samoan Drop followed by a German suplex. After the pin attempt, Shibata goes for the Sleeper Hold and he wears Ishii down to the mat, Ishii tries to get the ropes but Shibata kicks him in the chest but Ishii counters with a step up enziguri. Both men then trade shots again with Shibata looking to come out on top but Ishii levels Shibata with a lariat. Ishii then lands the big running lariat off the ropes followed by a German suplex. Shibata rises up to counter but Ishii still sends him flying. Ishii then land his seated lariat off the ropes to Shibata for a two count. Ishii goes for the big brain buster but Shibata counters into another chokehold. Ishii tries to get to the ropes but Shibata turns the move over and Ishii gets to the ropes for the break. Shibata blasts Ishii with more kicks to the chest but Ishii back hands Katsuyori sending him to the mat. Ishii picks up Shibata but then Shibata back hands Ishii this time dropping him. Shibata rises up and tries the penalty kick but Ishii catches the leg, spins Shibata around and head butts him, Shibata counters with a drop kick. Ishii comes back at Shibata with punches but then Shibata returns the favor. Ishii goes for one more but Shibata counters into the sleeper hold again. Shibata holds on while Ishii slumps down to the mat, Shibata sees his opportunity so he runs the ropes and scores with the Penalty Kick, covers Ishii and Shibata gets the win.
