THE ROYSTER REPORT: WHAT HAPPENED @SMACKDOWN

Smackdown comes to us tonight live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Last week James Ellsworth cost Dean Ambrose his rematch at AJ Styles and the WWE World Championship. With the annual Survivor Series pay per view nearing closer we get word that Daniel Bryan will make an appearance on MizTv to announce which Smackdown superstars will take place in that event. James Ellsworth’s music hit and he makes his way to the ring to kick off the show.

Ellsworth gets a standing ovation on his way to the ring as well as an “Ellsworth” chant. James says he wants to thank Shane and Daniel Bryan for the opportunity but he will be leaving soon. James says he hasn’t been able to eat or sleep because of getting Dean Ambrose disqualified last week. The crowd immediately shows their disbelief, James then calls Dean Ambrose to the ring. Dean says he’s had a lot of time to think about ripping his head off but he can’t stay mad at him, James says the least he can do is apologize. Ellsworth said he came to Smackdown Live to fight but he can’t do that now, Ambrose says it’s ok but don’t ever get in his way again. James says he can’t go back in time but all he can do is say he’s sorry, AJ Styles interrupts. AJ asks why James would apologize to Dean? The crowd goes wild for AJ but he shuts down the fans chants, AJ then says Dean is using Ellsworth. Styles says he respects Ellsworth more than Dean does. AJ says if anything he owes him because if it weren’t for AJ he would have merchandise at all. Both AJ and Dean come face to face but Ellsworth gets in the way, AJ catches Dean with a cheap shot then throws Ellsworth to the outside. As Ambrose rises to his feet, AJ scores with the Phenomenal Fore Arm and Dean is down. AJ’s music hits and he goes back to the ramp.

We see the fallout from the Bray Wyatt/Randy Orton dilemma next, the highlight package of Randy RKOing Kane and seemingly joining up with the Wyatt’s is shown and we are told that Orton will be facing Kane in a No Disqualification match next.

Daniel Bryan is shown backstage talking to Dean and James Ellsworth and James is in tears because of his blunder, Bryan says Dean will get his rematch at AJ tonight but after tonight that’s it. If Dean wins then he will become the #1 Contender to AJ Styles WWE World Championship.

Singles Match
No Disqualification Match
Kane vs Randy Orton

The action quickly spills to the outside, Orton goes for the chair but Kane intercepted and delivers the chair shot to the back. In the ring we see Orton fighting back but Kane stops him short with a back body drop. As Kane goes for another move the lights go out, they come on and Bray along with Luke Harper appear. Kane again goes to run the ropes but Luke pulls him to the outside. As Kane comes back for Orton, both Wyatt’s attack Kane setting up the RKO from Orton. Randy covers Kane as the Wyatt’s stare in the corner, the crowd erupts when Orton delivers the final blow.

Your Winner: Randy Orton

After the match we see the Luke and Bray still looking at Kane down on the canvas, Harper delivers his finisher then Kane take the Sister Abigail from Bray Wyatt. Bray and Harper stare into the crowd but when Randy Orton poses the crowd cheers in unison.

Women’s Division
Tag Team Match
Carmella & Alexa Bliss vs Nikki Bella & Smackdown Women’s Champion Beck Lynch

Nikki starts with Carmella but she quickly tags in Alexa, Bella goes for a waist lock then tags in Lynch. Both Bella and Lynch hit duel basement dropkicks in stereo, Bliss comes in and puts down both women then pose to the crowd. Bliss and Carmella work over Nikki in the corner and as Nikki goes for the tag, Bliss takes out Becky. Carmella then hits the Bronco Buster to Nikki for a two count. Nikki fights back but Carmella hip rises her back to the mat, Bliss gets the tag and chokes Nikki with the middle rope. Bella hits a drop kick to Bliss then tries to tag in Becky Lynch. Bliss tries to hold the leg if Bella but she gets the hit tag to Lynch. Becky clears the ring then gets Carmella into the corner and hits the big fore arm. Bliss interferes but Be my hits the reverse DDT, Carmella ties up the referee allowing Alexa to blindside Bliss and hit the DDT for the win.

Your Winners: Carmella & Alexa Bliss

After the match Carmella and Alexa Bliss talk trash about the Raw Women’s Division calling Bayley just a little girl and then calling out Charlotte. Bliss then gets on the microphone and says in Glasgow she will become the new Smackdown Women’s Champion.

Shane and Daniel Bryan congratulate Naomi and say that she will be one of the women that will represent Smackdown Live in the Survivor Series. Natalya comes on screen and she says she wants to be the coach of the Smackdown Live Women’s team and her wish is granted.

Tag Team Match
The Spirit Squad(Kenny & Mikey) vs The American Alpha

Kenny starts off with Gable and Chad quickly goes with the belly to belly suplex, Kenny recovers and tags in Mikey. Mikey goes for a quick move then tags in Kenny, Kenny misses the top rope leg drop then Jordan is tagged in. Jason hits belly to belly suplexes to both men then set up Mikey for the Grand Amplitude and the Alpha’s get the quick win.

A recap of Goldberg appearing on Raw last night is shown next and his upcoming match with Brock Lesnar is shown next on the big screen.

The next installment of MizTv is next and his guest this week is Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan. Maryse introduces The Miz and he talks a bit Bryan and says we will have news about the upcoming Survivor Series. He introduces Bryan to the crowd and the Prudential Center goes wild. Miz talks about how he runs a tight ship on MizTv unlike his hits on Talking Smack, Miz then brings up the Survivor Series. Bryan says the Smackdown Live Team will be AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt & Baron Corbin. Miz then asked why he wasn’t considered, Miz then asks why is he being disrespected not front of his wife. Miz then says he is the only way to survival but Raw will come out on top Blaise of this. Bryan says Smackdown needs star that will compete at anytime and Miz isn’t that guy. Bryan says that at Survivor Series he needs men that will fight whenever he needs them to. Bryan then says Miz is scared to fight, Miz then says Bryan is scared to fight and he should just go back to Total Bella’s. Bryan then says to Miz to just leave and let the real superstars fight so he should just sit there watch as Dolph Ziggler defends his title on an open challenge match.

Singles Match
Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge
Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler vs Curt Hawkins(Debut Match)

As the bell sounds, Curt runs straight for Ziggler but Dolph blasts him with a Super Kick and Curt is down. Dolph covers him and gets the quick win.

Your Winner: Dolph Ziggler

After the match Dolph is interviewed in the ring and says how he is a fighting champion, he looks at Miz then says this will be another open challenge. Dolph says that at Survivor Series he will put the Intercontinental Championship up against anyone from Monday Night Raw who thinks they can take it.

Dean Ambrose is backstage and he is asked about his match with AJ tonight but James Ellsworth is still backstage begging Ambrose to be able to be ringside tonight. Ambrose tells James there’s no way he will be ringside and he’s just got to except it.

Randy Orton is shown backstage with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper, Orton says Bray that he is a god and Bray says anyone with snake-like tendencies will be welcomed to the Wyatt family.

Survivor Series Tag Team Qualifying Match
The Uso’s vs The Headbangers(Mosh & Thrasher)

The Uso’s attack the Headbangers before the bell sounds, Jimmy locks up with Thrasher when the match starts. Jay gets tag just as Mosh, Mosh hits two splashes in the corner but Jimmy Uso gets into the action. While Jimmy is on the outside he blasts Thrasher when the referee had his back turned. Jay rolls up Thrasher and gets the win.

The Uso’s are now apart of the SmackDown Live Survivor Series Tag Team.

As Dean Ambrose makes his way through the back with Ellsworth, Dean tells him not to worry and they will still be cool. Dean takes James to a safe place so he won’t interfere tonight, Dean escorts him outside.

#1 Contenders Match
WWE World Champion AJ Styles vs Dean Ambrose
If Ambrose wins he will be the #1 Contender

Dean attacks AJ as the bell sounds knocking him to the outside. Dean runs the ropes and goes flying through the second rope crashing into AJ. Ambrose gets AJ in the corner and proceeds to blast away with chops. Dean goes for a series of roll ups but is unsuccessful. Dean licks on the Texas Cloverleaf move but AJ gets to the ropes, Dean sets up AJ on the top rope hitting the Super Plex for a two count. Dean blasts away at AJ again in the corner but this time AJ counters into the Calf Crusher but Dean escapes into the ropes. The action spilled outside and Dean clotheslines AJ over the barricade, back in the ring Dean covers him for a two count. AJ blocks Deans next move from the second rope but Dean comes down on his left leg. AJ then targets the hurt leg with swift kicks. AJ then sets up Dean in the corner and works the leg over again. After a two count from AJ we see Ambrose trying to regain his composure but AJ blasts him right back down to the mat attacking that injured leg. Dean tries to fight away but AJ turns that into a sunset flip then roll up for a two count. Dean blocks the AJ suplex attempt then delivers one of his own, as Ambrose loads up for the big clothesline he gets his leg taken out by Styles again. AJ goes for the Phenomenal Fore Arm but Ambrose kicks the ropes sending AJ to the outside. Ambrose then goes up to the top rope and drops the elbow down onto AJ Styles still on the outside. Dean teases Dirty Deeds but Styles blocks, Dean then hits a big clothesline dropping Styles. AJ gets his next move blocks and Ambrose turns it into a Flapjack for a two count. Styles then teases the Styles Clash but Dean clothelines AJ. James Ellsworth arrives at ringside but security chases him away, Ambrose tries a rollup but AJ counters into Calf Crusher again but Dean escapes. Ellsworth again tries to get in the ring but AJ blasts him back outside as security is trying to stop him again. AJ then tries the Phenomenal Fore Arm but Dean counters into the Dirty Deeds DDT and he gets the win over Styles.

Your Winner: Dean Ambrose

Ambrose is now the #1 Contender to the WWE World Championship, Dean goes up to the ramp and celebrates with James Ellsworth who can barely stand up. AJ is still in the ring as Deans music plays and Smackdown Live goes off the air.
