We open the show with a video from earlier today. Samoa Joe is sitting with NXT General Manager William Regal and a doctor. The doctor says that, in addition to the broken jaw, Joe told him about several other injuries. As a result, Joe is not going to be cleared to wrestle for a while. The opening video played, Tom Phillips and Corey Graves welcome us to the show and hyped the return of NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura for later. Inside the arena, Tye Dillinger makes his entrance. The crowd welcomes him with “Ten!!” chants. Buddy Murphy comes out next to “ One!!” chants.

Match 1: “ The Perfect 10,” Tye Dillinger vs. Buddy Murphy

Dillinger opens up with a hammerlock as the crowd chants, “You’re a Zero!!” to Murphy. Murphy grabs a headlock. Dillinger shakes off Murphy and Murphy comes back with a shoulder block. Murphy executes a snap mare and flashes his own “Ten” sign.

They lock up again and Dillinger takes control with a side headlock takedown. Murphy throws Dillinger off and a crisscross later Dillinger connectes with an atomic drop and a snap mare. That leads to cartwheel and the “10” sign from Dillinger. Dillinger takes control and Murphy yanks Miller to the mat by the hair. He follows up with a running forearm for a one count. Dillinger tries to fire back but gets sent to the floor by Murphy. Murphy throws him back in and hits a double knee drop off the top rope for a two count. The show takes its first commercial break.

We return to find Murphy still in control. He plants a knee to the head and goes for a pin but Dillinger kicks out. Murphy grabs a headlock but Dillinger fights out and starts firing back. Dillinger hits a backdrop and stomps Murphy in the corner. Dillinger hits a clothesline and follows up with the Tye Breaker for the win.

Winner: Tye Dillinger

Graves and Phillips again hype Nakamura for later in the show. They mention the tag team title match from Takeover to draw the focus to Ciampa, Gargano and Gargano’s knee injury. They throw it to a video package that shows Gargano’s injury from Takeover and his subsequent loss in the Cruiserweight Classic. They go for an injury update on Gargano to Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa starts his interview bu is jumped by the Revival. Ciampa fights well but the numbers game catches up to him and the beatdown spills out to the NXT Arena and into the ring. They kick him to the floor and grab a mic. Scott Dawson talks about reality. He says that guys think they are tough until they get hit with a dose of reality. He says Tommaso just got hit with a reality check. Just then, Ciampa crawls his way back inside the ring and tries to use Dawson to pull himself to his feet. That earns Ciampa a Shatter Machine for his efforts. Referees hit the ring to tend to Ciampa as Dawson and Wilder leave the area as the show goes to break.

Back from break, there is a recap of the Ciampa beat down. We go back to the arena to see Steve Cutler make his entrance. On his way to the ring, Cutler is shown in a pre-taped promo and says that he doesn’t care if you like or hate him, but you will respect him. His opponent, Kenneth Crawford makes his entrance. On his way to the ring, Phillips and Graves praise the ability of Crawford. They say he is very highly thought of at the Performance Center.

Match 2: Steve Cutler vs. Kenneth Crawford

Cutler takes Crawford to the mat with an arm bar. Crawford reverses the move and Cutler tries to set him up for a backdrop. Crawford attempts to land on his feet but botches the landing. Crawford still gets an arm drag into an arm bar.

Cutler slugs his way free and starts to open up on Crawford. He whips him chest-first to the buckle and goes for a pin but Crawford gets out. Cutler chokes Crawford and tries a pin but Crawford is out at one. Crawford fights his way free and takes control with hard shots. He hits a standing Shooting Star Press but only gets a two. Then, Crawford charges at Cutler in the corner but Cutler counters by getting the knees up then hitting the fisherman’s Michinoku Driver for the win.

Winner: Steve Cutler

We go backstage for an interview with Hideo Itami. He is asked about his actions at Takeover. He says he kicked Aries in the head with his “sockless loafers and it was a huge moment for him. But, he said Aries disappointed him by claiming a ruptured eardrum. Itami says ‘So What!!” regarding Aries ear. He says he thought Aries was a real man but maybe he’s a little baby. He tells him, if he can’t take the pain, get out of my ring or I will make you go to sleep again.

A video is played of the April 1st match between Nakamura and Sammi Zayne. Graves hypes the Nakamura appearance again for later in the show as we head to another break.

A TM61 video airs. Phillips touts they will be on NXT next week. No Way Jose makes his entrance. His opponent, Angelo Dawkins makes his way out.

Match 3: No Way Jose vs. Angelo Dawkins

The bell rings and the two men lock up, Jose forces Dawkins into the corner then dances away giving a clean break. After the next lock up, Dawkins grab a headlock that leads to both men running thr ropes. Jose gains brief control with a shoulder block and a snap mare but Dawkins buries a knee to stop momentum.

Dawkins grabs a rear chin lock. Jose gets to his feet and elbows his way loose. He opens up with hard shots to Dawkins. Jose hits the wind up fist and the full nelson slam for the three count.

Winner: No Way Jose

Back in the interview area, Andrade “Cien” Almas is asked how he plans to rebound after his first defeat. Almas says he is not very happy as Austin Aries interrupts him. Aries says he is not happy either. Aries says he doesn’t get any respect and he can’t figure out why. He says everything about him screams star. Aries says every time he shows his greatness, someone comes along to steal his glory. He reminds us that he beat No Way Jose at Takeover but everyone’s talking about what “sockless loafer boy,” Hideo Itami did to him. He says he cant really hear for sure because his eardrum is ruptured. Aries believes he is entitled to take Almas’ spotlight because he lost at Takeover. Almas says something to him in Spanish but Aries cuts him off and asks him to speak English. Almas obliges and challenges Aries to a match next week. Aries plays as though he cant hear and walks away to end the segment.

A video recap of the July 13th match between Nakamura and Finn Balor is shown to hype his appearance for later in the show. The show goes to commercial.

We are back to see Liv Morgan make her entrance. Her opponent Aliyah makes her entrance next.

Match 4: Liv Morgan vs. Aliyah

Aliyah starts off fast and takes Morgan down to the canvas. She goes for a quick pin but Morgan is out at one. Aliyah hits Morgan with forearms to the back of the head. Aliyah whips Morgan to the buckle and charges but Morgan catches her with a flying head scissors then rolls her up for a one count.

Aliyah regains control with hard shots and a flying body press in the corner. She follows that up with a RKO-type move catching Morgan’s throat across the ropes. Aliyah goes for the pin but Morgan was too far under the rope for a legal count. Aliyah drags her further into the ring and tries for the win but Morgan kicks out at two. Aliyah goes for a submission but Morgan powers her way out only to have Aliyah counter it into a pin attempt. Morgan is able to power out at two.

Aliyah picks up Morgan but Morgan is able to create some seperation with a dropkick, a clothesline and a bulldog. Morgan nails Aliyah with a roundhouse kick out of the corner for the three count.

Winner: Liv Morgan

No Way Jose is shown walking backstage when an interviewer walks up and asks him how important his win was tonight. Jose says he suffered a bit of a setback at Takeover. He said life tried to tell him no but he says No Way. So tonight, he showed that he has the fair and heart of a lion. He said he started a new conga line that’s going straight to the top. Just then, Bobby Roode walks up, looks him up and down, says “Nice head” and walks away.

A video recap is shown of the match at Takeover between Nakamura and Samoa Joe. The champ celebrates next as we go to commercial.

We return to the news that Tom Phillips will have an exclusive interview with Women’s Champ, Asuka, next week. Nakamura makes his way to the ring as the crowd chants for him.

Shinsuke said he had accomplished everything he could in Japan and wanted to face the best competition in the world and there was only one place to go, NXT. He wanted to challenge himself and see how good he is. So, he challenged Sammi Zayne, Finn Balor, and Samoa Joe. He said everything still hurts after his match with Joe but he fought through the pain and became champion. He said that out of all the titles he has held, this belt means the most. He says he has the utmost respect for Samoa Joe but the Joe era is over, now is the era of strong style.

Nakamura plays to the crowd to close the show for this week.
