Kimbo Slice passed away yesterday at the age of 42.

Slice was rushed from his Florida home to a nearby hospital after experiencing health issues yesterday afternoon. At this time it is not known what the cause of death was, but speculation has centered around a heart attack.

Slice came to fame as a result of a series of YouTube videos showing him in street fights. He developed an online following and was eventually brought into the professional ranks when he signed with EliteFC in 2007. He competed in UFC as part of the Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights losing to Roy Nelson before defeating Houston Alexander in the finale.

His biggest win came when he beat MMA legend Ken Shamrock in a Bellator fight that was controversial enough to cause many fans to allege that it was fixed. It wasn’t the first time those allegations were made about Slice, as the Florida Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation investigations claims made by fighter Seth Petrucelli that EliteFC has offered him additional money to avoid using certain fight tactics in a proposed fight with Slice.

In his last fight, Slice defeated Dada 5000 in a fight that saw both men exhausted and with Slice winning by TKO. Slice failed a post fight drug test and his license was revoked in Texas.

No cause of death is known at this time, but foul play is not suspected.
