Ring of Honor was still in Tokyo, Japan, this week. The best of New Japan joined Ring of Honor for an amazing hour, topped off with a wild six-man tag team battle.

These episodes were taped at Korakuen Hall (I may have misspelled that, last week). The place has a true “Old School” feel, much like the Dallas Sportatorium or the 2300 Arena (ECW Arena).

Tetsuya Naito and Jay Lethal (w/Truth Martini) vs Kazuchika “Rainmaker” Okada and Yashi Hashi (w/Gedo)

Code of Honor Handshakes. Jay was asked, by Okada, to start the match. Collar and Elbow led to Jay taking control of the arm. Okada rolled around and Kipped Up. Okada took control of the arm and Snap Mared Jay into a Hammerlock. Jay took a Side Headlock but Okada punched free. Universal but Okada blocked the Lethal Injection. Lethal ducked “Rainmaker”. The fans were divided in their loyalties. Cartwheel Dropkick by Lethal brought a two. Jay wanted to tag out but Naito refused to accept. RoH went to commercial.

Naito changed his mind and agreed to participate. Naito stomped away on Hashi, who was now legal. Naito tagged out, quickly. Naito came back in and lifted Yoshi. Naito popped Okada and put Yoshi down, in the corner. Outside-In Corner Dropkick. Naito hit a Forearm but took an Inverted Enziguri. Code Breaker by Yoshi. Tag to Okada. Okada dropped Lethal and then kicked Naito. Modified Flapjack by Okada but he didn’t get all of it. 2 count but Naito still had something left. Scoop Slam by Okada. Rainmaker went up top but had to change plans. Naito got the boots up. Inverted Atomic Drop and Rope –Assisted Tornado DDT by Naito.

Lethal took the tag and flew off the top. Roaring Elbow by Lethal but Okada got the boot up. Lethal Combination. 1-2-not yet. Double Whip on Okada. Lethal accidentally Superkicked his partner, Naito. Wicked Dropkick by Okada to Lethal. Yoshi took the tag and hit an amazing Running Blockbuster. Lethal ended up in a Suplex Neckbreaker. 2 count. Double team on Lethal. Blockbuster by Yoshi but Naito made the save. The fight went out to the floor. Back in the ring, Yoshi tried for a Piledriver. Lethal got free. Jay had the Book of Truth but didn’t get to use it. Huge Lariat by Yoshi. Truth got involved in the match. Yoshi was pushed off the top turnbuckle. Naito laid out Okada with the Book of Truth. Lethal Injection to Yoshi Hashi.

Honor Roll Ranking: 3.5 out of a possible 5

Naito read the Book of Truth (translated into Japanese). He then attacked Okada. Jay seemed to be offering Naito a place with the House of Truth. Naito shook Jay’s hand. Not sure if he is going to be a new permanent member of the H.o.T. or not. Naito and his crew from Mexico are now somewhat aligned with Martini, Lethal and the others.

Frankie Kazarian vs KUSHIDA
Non-Title Match

KUSHIDA is the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, as of the time this was taped (2/19/2016). Tiger Hatori was the ref. He is kind of the Bronco Lubich of Japan. Smile and nod to all my buddies back home in Big D.

The two men were cautious before tying up. Test of Strength between the two. Kaz got the early advantage but KISHIDA came right back. Nice Back Bridge by KUSHIDA. Hoverboard Lock by KUSHIDA but Kaz quickly scooted to the ropes. Go Behind by KUSHIDA. Standing Switch and both men went to the canvas. KUSHIDA rolled over and rode Kaz’s back. RoH took a quick break.

Kaz snapped KUSHIDA over the top rope. DDT by Kaz. KUSHIDA clutched his neck, in serious pain. Kaz with a Rolling Side Russian Leg Sweep by Kaz. Kaz danced around, looking quite silly. Kaz choked KUSHIDA on the ropes. Tiger forced Kaz to stop. Kaz lifted KUSHIDA and ran his crotch into the corner. Kaz then hit a version of the X Factor to put KUSHIDA down, hard. 2 count.

Sunset Flip by KUSHIDA failed. Kaz drove his knee into KUSHIDA’s neck. KUSHIDA got the boot up. Enziguri by KUSHIDA set up a Springboard Dropkick. KUSHIDA headed up top and Moonsaulted out to the floor. KUSHIDA did his own little Ride the Pony dance. KUSHIDA pitched Kaz back in the ring. Kaz dodged KUSHIDA but fell into a Triangle Choke. Kaz went to the eyes to get free. The two traded wild Forearms and kicks. Kaz reversed a Whip and caught KUSHIDA in an Electric Chair German Suplex. 2 count.

The two went to the corner. Kaz wanted the Flux Capacitor but KUSHIDA fought free. Flying Hoverboard Lock by KUSHIDA but he let go as they landed. KUSHIDA stayed focused on Kaz’s left arm. Hoverboard Lock! KUSHIDA had Kaz trapped in the middle of the ring and he had no choice but to tap out.

Mark Briscoe was walking the streets of Tokyo, looking for someone. It turns out that Mark was trying to find…Godzilla! Grin. Mark then looked at various restaurants to decide between rice and noodles. This segment was just too funny. Mark ended up at the New Japan Dojo.

Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson) aka The Bullet Club vs Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish (reDRagon) and Katsuyori Shibata
Six Man Tag Team Match

It broke down, even before the bell. The Dragons and Bucks went after each other, in the ring. Meanwhile, Kenny took out Shibate. Double Cross Armbreakers by Kyle and Bobby. Shibata then did the same to Omega. Omega lifted Shibata and slammed him onto reDRagon. Stereo Crash and Burn by the Bucks. Omega got ready and hit a Flip Dive to his foes. You just knew it was time for some commercials.

Bobby was being worked over, as we returned. Rolling Double Team Neckbreaker by The Elite of Bullet Club. Nick went “S*ckIt” crazy with repeated Crotch Chops. Bobby finally got his breath back and went wild. He brought in Kyle. Double team by the Dragons. 2-Man Smash Machine. Chasing the Dragon failed. Shibata and Omega both tagged in and they tore it up. Shibata rocked Kenny with a Running Boot. He followed it up with a nice Running Corner Dropkick.2 count. Shibata applied a Rear Naked Choke but the Bucks rushed in and bashed Shibata. Superkick! Triple Superkick but Bobby prevented the tag. Shibata blocked the One Winged Angel from Kenny.

Kyle got the tag and went to work on both Jackson brothers. He also hit a Bomaye on Kenny. Omega came back with a Stall Suplex. Superkick. Kenny got taken out by a misplaced Superkick. Rebound Clothesline on the Jacksons. Kyle twisted out of the One Winded Angel to apply the Flying Guillotine. Shibata was working over his foe but ate a Superkick. A spray can was used and then the Elite hit a modified Indietaker. One Winged Angel.
