Crystal Ball: TLC 2015

Jay Shannon uses his predictive skills to pick the winners and losers of an upcoming major wrestling event.

It’s the final PPV of 2015. Tables, Ladders and Chairs began as just a specialty match but, over the years, it has morphed into a full-on show. Let’s take a look at this year’s offering.

Ryback vs Rusev

Predictions:

This was a last minute addition to the show. Rusev has been on the shelf, several times, in the past year. Injuries are definitely going to shorten his career. That being said, WWE needs to jam with Rusev’s push. Expect Lana to provide a distraction, again. This one is likely to be in the class of Kane vs Great Khali. In the end, Rusev will put Ryback in the Accolade and Ryback will pas out.

Predicted Winner: Rusev
Predicted Grade: 1.5 out of a possible 5

Charlotte (w/Ric Flair) vs Paige
Divas Title Match
Predictions:

WWE is converting Charlotte into a female version of her dad. They’ve even started calling her the “Nature Girl”. Being a fan of Ric since the very early 80s, I remember how Ric would do anything to keep a title. I have a funny feeling that Papa Ric just might do some funky stuff to help his baby girl survive the challenge of the Pale Destructress.

Predicted Winner: Charlotte
Predicted Grade: 2.25

Bubba Ray Dudley, D’Von Dudley, Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno vs Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan, Luke Harper and Braun Strowman
8-Man Elimination Tables Match

Predictions:

This is the match that I am looking forward to. I’ve had the honor of meeting Dreamer and the Dudleys, over the years. Everyone knows that one of my orange cats is actually named Tommy Dreamer. I want to cheer on the Hardcore Originals to take this battle. Sadly, it’s not going to happen. Yes, Rhyno is going to Gore at least one member of the Wyatts through a table. The Dudleys might 3D another person through a table. In the end, I thinik Bray and Braun will survive this war and take out the former ECW superstars.

Predicted Winners: The Wyatt Family
Predicted Grade: 2.75

New Day vs The Usos vs Lucha Dragons
Triple Threat Ladders Match for the Tag Team Titles

Predictions:

This match just might steal the show. All three teams are exciting and fast-paced, so this match should harken back to Edge/Chrisitan vs Hardy Boyz vs the Dudley Boyz. That may be stretching it, a bit, but it will be a top-notch match. I’m going with the Dragons to take this one. They have had such a great push and New Day needs some time off to make themselves fresh again.

Predicted Winners (and New Tag Team Champions): Lucha Dragons
Predicted Grade: 4.0

Dean Ambrose vs Kevin Owens
Intercontinental Title Match

Predictions:

Dean is a good performer but he’s not going to become champion on Sunday. Owens is on such a career high that he can’t fail, now. Oh, it will come close. This one is going to be (to quote Jim Ross) “Bowling Shoe Ugly”. Owens will nail the Pop-Up Powerbomb to retain.

Predicted Winner: Kevin Owens
Predicted Grade: 2.5

Alberto Del Rio vs Jack Swagger
United States Title Match, Steel Chair Match

Predictions:

With the apparent falling apart of MexAmerica, Del Rio might be getting ready for a major fall. I just don’t think Swagger is going to be the one to take him down. Swagger hasn’t been hot in so long that it would be shocking to see Del Rio drop the belt.

Predicted Winner: Alberto Del Rio
Predicted Grade: 2.75

Sheamus vs Roman Reigns
TLC Match for the WWE World Title Match

Predictions:

The whole “Sheamus 5:15” thing has fallen flat. Roman seems so destined to be a dominant champion. I’ve talked this one over with several good friends and they thoughts are seriously mixed. While I know Roman can destroy the Celtic Warrior, I just don’t think the title is going to switch so quickly. Sheamus may end up getting some help from the rest of League of Nations but the Irishman will retain on Sunday.

Predicted Winner: Sheamus
Predicted Winner: 3.0

In Conclusion:

I don’t expect this to be a world-shaking show. John Cena, Brock Lesnar and Undertaker aren’t involved. The card is decent but nothing spectacular. I’ve already got the WWE Network loaded up on the desktop for the show and I’m hoping for some great surprises. It would be nice if they announced the first Hall of Famer, tonight. (I’m hoping for Owen Hart but I would be happy with JBL, The Freebirds or even the Honky Tonk Man).

Peace
