WHAT HAPPENED, THIS WEEK, @ RING OF HONOR TV

Posted September 16th, 2015 by jshannon

All-Star Extravaganza is just days away. Ring of Honor showcased many of its top stars, in preparation for the amazing card. My predictions will be included, a little later on.

Roll the opening montage!

Steve “King” Corino and Kevin Kelly were our announce team, this week.

Donovan Dijak and J. Diesel (House of Truth) vs Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly (reDRagon)
Non-Title (IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team) Match

Jay Lethal and Truth Martini accompanied Diesel and Dijak to the ring. Lethal joined the announce duo for this contest. Jay wasn’t happy to see the two men who he will have to face in San Antonio, in just a couple days. Bobby goes after the TV title and Kyle will try to take the World title.

Code of Honor Handshakes. Collar and Elbow by Kyle on Diesel. Diesel kicked Kyle but O’Reilly just went into the back and forth strikes. They were pretty much evenly matched. Snap Mare by Kyle into a slight slap in the face to tick off Diesel. Cross Armbreaker by Kyle. Diesel got the ropes and the ref forced the break. Tag to Fish. Bobby continued to work over the arm. Jay Lethal grumbled that the announce team were bugging the locker rooms to figure out strategy of the House of Truth. Kyle was tagged in after Fish kicked Diesel. Sleazy Dance into double kicks. Running Knee Strikes by Kyle.

Dijak kneed Kyle in the back, on a Whip. Dijak took the tag and whipped Kyle to the ropes. The two went around the ring in a foot race. Knee Trembler off the apron! Dijak was down and Truth was losing his mind. Kyle climbed up top but Diesel distracted him. Dijak caught Kyle and hit a wicked Spin Throw to send Kyle over the ropes. RoH went to break.

Silas Young did a questionable promo about beating Dalton Castle. If he was on WWE TV, he probably be pulled for offending those of an “alternate lifestyle”.

Dijak launched Kyle with a wild Suplex Throw. Lethal and Martini talked strategy. Tag to Diesel. European Uppercut by Kyle. Diesel came back with a Fallaway Slam. Tag to Dijak who hit a Springboard Elbow Drop. Dang. Dijak punched the head of Kyle. O’Reilly came back with kicks to both foes. Dijak blasted Fish to prevent the pin. Kyle flipped out of a Back Drop Suplex and tore Dijak a new one with kicks and strikes. Tags on both sides. Fish kicked at the hamstring of Diesel. Corner Knee Strike into an Exploder that sent Diesel into the corner. Dijak made the save. Dijak bashed Fish but reDRagon went off in a tandem Kick-a-Thon. Dijak was chopped down like a redwood. Stereo Kicks on the huge man. reDRagon then double teamed Diesel. Kyle missed a Tope con Hilo. Fish cinched in an Ankle Lock. Dijak pounded on Fish but Bobby would not release the hold. Kyle jumped in and applied a Sleeper. Cross Armbreaker by Kyle. Diesel tapped out.

Your Winners: reDRagon
Honor Roll Ranking: 3.0 out of a possible 5

Kyle and Bobby got up in Jay’s face. Jay pushed aside the ref, which will cost him a bit of cash.

Dalton Castle and his Boys did the promo to push his t-shirt. This is one of the most fun promos out there.

It was announced that the Briscoes will have to face a mystery team at All-Star Extravaganza.

Cedric Alexander (w/Veda Scott) vs Dalton Castle (w/The Boys)

Silas Young was at ringside. Silas grumbled about Dalton and his entourage. No Code of Honor Handshake. Dalton took Cedric to the corner. Snap Arm Drag by Cedric. The Boys had the fans going at warp speed. Snap Mare by Cedric. Arm Drag by Cedric. Standing Switch. Dalton freaked out Cedric. Dalton bashed Cedric in the face. Whip reversed by Cedric. Castle tried to roll over the top rope and hit his private parts on the top rope. The Boys fanned the nethers. Veda held Cedric’s leg and the Boys fanned her. Running Knee by Cedric. Time for another break.

We’re back and Castle escaped a Side Headlock. Cedric rocked the Human Peacock with a wild Dropkick. Cedric mocked Castle and then dropped a knee. The two went back and forth hard strikes. Castle got the better of it. Cedric reversed a Whip but took a boot. Castle rocked Cedric with a Forearm and hit a La Bandera Clothesline.

Cedric reached over Veda’s shoulder and popped Castle in the face. Castle pushed Cedric into a ring post. Slider Hurancanrana and the crowd popped, big time. Castle pitched Cedric in the ring. Silas make remarks about the Philadelphia Eagles (hey, that’s MY team). Castle got dropped. Cedric came off the ropes but got Belly to Belly Suplexed. Castle couldn’t believe he didn’t get the three. Dead Lift blocked by Cedric. Paradise Kick by Cedric but it only brought him a two. Castle ducked a kick and hit the Dead Lift German. 1-2-not yet. The fans chanted that it was a three count. Silas Young got up and attacked The Boys. Cedric with a School Boy to take the win. Silas dragged the Boys but Castle came out to stop him.

Your Winner: Cedric Alexander
Honor Roll Ranking: 3.5

Moose came from behind to drop Cedric. Moose and Cedric will battle in a No-DQ match at All-Star Extravaganza.

Inside ROH ran down the card of All-Star Extravaganza. Mandy Leon was interrupted by Adam Cole. He wanted to talk about a few matches. So let’s run down the card and I’ll give my predictions:

A.J. Styles vs Roderick Strong vs Adam Cole vs Michael Elgin
Four Way to determine the Number One Contender to the World Title

I’m putting my money on Styles to take this one.

Kyle O’Reilly vs Jay Lethal
World Title Match

Lethal retains.

Bobby Fish vs Jay Lethal
TV Title Match

I’m going out on a limb here and say Fish takes the title so Future Shock (Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole) can reunite for good.

Cedric Alexander vs Moose
No-Disqualification Match

Moose has gotten ripped off, numerous times, but not this time. Moose takes it.

The Kingdom vs The Young Bucks vs The Addiction
Triple Threat for the World Tag Team Titles

This one is a little tough to call but, when in doubt, go with the champs. Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels are taking this one home.

Silas Young vs Dalton Castle
Men vs Boys Match

So, if Silas wins, he gets to transform The Boys into Men. If Castle wins, Silas has to become one of The Boys. Both have interesting possibilities but I just think Silas is going to have to don the mask, body oil and other assorted silliness.

Matt Sydal vs ACH

This is a definite Coin Toss because both men are so darn talented. I think Sydal takes it.

The Briscoes vs a Mystery Team

This one is almost impossible to call. Adam Page is somehow behind all this. I’m hoping it’s some huge team or a Japanese duo. I’m worried that it will be Adam Page and Colby Corino. I do think the Briscoes will come out on top.

The Kingdom (Michael Bennett and Matt Taven) vs War Machine (Hanson and Raymond Rowe)

The Kingdom wanted a Double Superkick but got annihilated by the Bearded Beasts. Dead Lift Lift Slam by Rowe. Tag to Hanson. Taven went to the eyes but Hanson came back with a Spinning Side Slam. Rowe tagged back in. Double Slam and then Rowe slammed Hanson onto Taven. Hanson Powerbombed Rowe onto Taven. 2 count. Whip and Belly to Belly by Rowe. Hanson became legal, once more. Maria was losing her mind. Tag to Bennett. Double Back Bomb by War Machine. Hanson set Bennett on the top rope and Sledged the chest. Maria rushed in and attacked Hanson. He placed MRS. Bennett on top of her hubby but Taven prevented evil things from happening. Double team on Hanson, on the floor. It was time for another commercial break.

Bennett tagged in and Hanson got double teamed. Hanson fought back with Elbows and Strikes. Dropkick by Bennett. Bennett tripped Taven, who was on the top. Side Slam to Bennett. Taven flew in and got caught by Rowe, who was now legal. Snap Powerslam by Rowe to Bennett. Shotgun Knees to Taven. Bennett blasted Rowe but it had minimal effect. Superman Forearm to Bennett. Uranage Slam to Taven. War Machine wanted Fallout but Bennett got involved to prevent it. Double Low Bridge sent War Machine to the floor. Taven flew over the top but got caught. Bennett tried for Crash and Burn but he got burned when War Machine dropped Bennett on the ring apron. Hanson blocked a Sunset Flip and Dead Lifted Taven. Cartwheels by Hanson and Taven and the crowd loved it. Step Up Enziguri from Taven. Bennett with a Spear to Rowe. Double team on Hanson, including a Spinebuster from Bennett and a Springboard Moonsault by Taven.

Double Whip into a Bennett Superkick. Hanson caught Tavena nd hit a Double Team Backbreaker. Path of Resistance by Rowe. Maria got up on the apron. Rowe crashed into Hanson. The Young Bucks came out and pulled Maria off the apron. Corino begged for the Superkick. Double Chokeslam on Bennett. Fallout!

Your Winners: War Machine
Honor Roll Ranking: 4.0

After the match, the Young Bucks took out Bennett with the Dual Superkicks. The KRD (Kazarian, Daniels and Chris Sabin) attacked the Young Bucks.

The show finished up with a series of promos from the main players in Friday’s All-Star Extravaganza.

Peace
