It was a Championship Edition of Ring of Honor. The World title and the tag belts were on the line.

Jay Lethal and Roderick Strong talked about their World Title Rematch.

The Show came from the 2300 Arena (formerly known as the ECW Arena). Steve Corino and Kevin Kelly ran down the night’s card.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) vs The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian)
World Tag Team Title Match

The winner of this match will defend against The Kingdom at All-Star Extravaganza, in San Antonio, Texas. Chris Sabin came out with Kaz and Daniels. RoH looked back at how The Addiction hit the Indietaker on one of the Bucks, a couple weeks back. Bobby Cruise did the official introductions.

Double Superkick to Daniels during the introductions. The Jacksons then worked over Kaz with a Spinning Neckbreaker. Sabin pulled Kaz out to the floor but one of the Jacksons hit a Moonsault off the apron. Sabin got ejected by the ref for getting involved. “The is Awesome” rang out from the wild Philly crowd. Superkick to Sabin as he was leaving.

The Bucks kept up the double team to rock the tag champs. Matt Whipped Nick into Daniels. Superkick! Kaz pushed Nick off the ropes. Daniels with a Springboard Moonsault to the floor. Springboard DDT by Kaz. RoH took a quick break.

Daniels laid out Matt with a hrad kick and punched away. Snap Mare by Daniels. Double Team Springboard moves by the champs. Daniels hit a Front Drop Suplex Gut Buster. Daniels stepped over Matt’s ribs. Seated Waist Lock, with the feet on the ropes, by Daniels. The ref didn’t see a thing. Next week will be a night filled with tag team action. The ref finally caught Daniels putting his feet on the ropes. Whip by Daniels but he ate a boot. Excellent Corkscrew Cutter off the ropes by Matt. Tags to Nick and Kaz. Back Elbow to Kaz and Dropkick to Daniels. Tornado DDT, off the apron, to put down Daniels. Springboard X Factor by Nick to Kaz. The brothers came in to double team Kaz. Swanton onto Kaz, who was draped over the ropes. Daniels made the save. Matt rocked Daniels but fell to Celebrity Rehab. 1-2-not yet.

Daniels took a Superkick, missed he BME and took a running Knee. Slingshot Cutter by Kaz but Matt with the Superkick to Daniels. Dang. “This is Wrestling” rang out and I couldn’t agree more. Daniels took down Mat with the Knee Strike. Kaz then hit a wild Knee Strike. The Kingdom came out to jump Daniels as Kaz applied a Cross Armbreaker. Superkick by Nick. Buckle Bomb/Enziguri. Nick hit a Moonsault to take out the Kingdom and then nailed he Indietaker. The Kingdom pulled the ref out of the ring to prevent the pin. Taven, of the KIngdom, got taken out by Nick. Daniels cracked Nick with the belt but missed Matt. Matt got the belt and went after everyone in sight. Aria grabbed the belt from Matt. The fans called for the Superkick but Kaz rolled up Matt, while holding the tights.

Nigel McGuinness rushed down and said this wasn’t happening on HIS watch. Nigel reminded Daniels what RoH was all about. Nigel wanted to see a clean match but The Kingdom destroyed it. Nigel felt the Young Bucks deserve another shot. Nigel wanted to remove The Kingdom form All-Star Extravaganza but couldn’t. Instead, he inserted The Young Bucks into the tag title match at All-Star Extravaganza (Sept. 18th). That show will be on PPV.

Dalton and his Boys showed off Castle’s shirt. One of the best sell jobs going, right now.

Inside ROH, this week, focused on the feud between “The Human Peacock” Dalton Castle and “The Last Real Man” Silas Young. Young proposed a match where Dalton put “The Boys” on the line. If Silas wins, he gets The Boys to turn them into Men. If he loses, Silas has to become one of Dalton’s Boys. I so hope Dalton wins that one. Smile. That match will also happen at All-Star Extravaganza.

Roderick Strong vs Jay Lethal
World Title Match

Jay was surrounded by the entire House of Truth faction. Jay wore both the World and TV belts out to the ring. Kyle O’Reilly gets the winner of this match, in San Antonio. I love that town, especially a little Irish pub on the Riverwalk called “Dirty Nellie’s”. (College Flashback Moment)

Todd Sinclair was the Zebra in Charge. Code of Honor Handshake did happen, after a lot of jaw jacking. The crowd was seriously split in their chants. The two tore into each other with wild punches. Whip by Lethal but Strong with the Flying Clothesline. The two exchanged Knife Edge Chops. Roddy went for the Stronghold but Jay kicked out. Suicide Dive by Lethal. Jay slid back in the ring but got rocked with a wild Dropkick. Jay spat out a tooth. Jay rolled out to the floor as Sinclair and Truth Martini checked on Lethal.

Cedric Alexander cut a promo about his upcoming match against Moose. Veda Scott added that she was going to get rid of Stokely Hathaway. Veda said it was time to end Moose’s career, at All-Star Extravaganza. That show is going to be off the charts.

The two were throwing Knife Edge Chops on the floor. Strong sent Jay into the barricade. Back in the ring, Strong didn’t even get a 1 count. Strong’s chest was cut open. Front Drop Suplex to Lethal. Strong missed a Knee Strike but Low Bridged the champ. Baseball Slide Dropkick stopped by Dijak and Diesel. Superkick by Lethal. Truth told Jay to stay on Roddy. Jay Whipped Roddy into the barricade. Truth taunted Strong as Jay came around for more Chops. Jay rammed Roddy’s face into the ring apron.

The two got back in the ring and Jay could only get a one count. Rear Chin Lock by the champ. Strong fought free and the two went back to trading hard fists. European Uppercut by Jay and Knife Edge by Roddy. Snake Eyes by Lethal. Strong and Jay just kept beating the bejesus out of each other. Jay ran Roddy into the corner. Jay with Corner Mount Punches. Elbow Drop by Jay. Jay with a Hammer Throw. 2 count. Rear Chin Lock by Lethal. Strong forced himself to his feet. Jay tossed him back down and went back to the Rear Cin Lock.

Strong punched the ribs but Jay tossed him out to the floor. Strong’s had a busted open forehead. Sinclair checked on Strong as RoH took another break.

Strong blocked Lethal Injection and turned it into a Backbreaker. The House of Truth forces looked worried. Strong with a huge number of Knife Edge Chops (like 12). Strong pulled Jay off the ropes but couldn’t’ do much with him. Knee Strikes and Running Elbows to the champ. Uranage Slam for a two count. Jay dropped down to avoid a Suplex. Jay reversed the Butterfly Suplex. Lethal Combination by Jay for a two. Jay picked up Strong and moved him to the corner. Jay punched Strong and sat him on the top rope. Jay set for a Superplex but Roddy fought free. Strong perched on the top and hit he Savage Elbow aka Hail to the King. 2 count.

The ref began to count both men down. They got to their knees and slugged it out. Strong told Jay to bring the fight. Jay with sharp shots to the jaw but Strong didn’t back up. Jumping Knee Strike by Strong. Superplex by Strong but Jay rolled into a Small Package. Jumping Knee by Roddy but Superkick by Strong. Sick Kick by Strong as Jay went for Lethal Injection. Could be…might be…Denied! Time for a final commercial break.

Jumping Knee to Jay. Strong took out all the House of Truth members. Superkick by Jay. He hit a 2nd one and unwrapped the tape from his wrist. He choked Strong. Jay took the belt and clocked Strong with it. Lethal Injection! 2 count! Jay was stunned and the fans were rabid. Superkick by Lethal led to another attempt at the Lethal Injection. He hit it and finished off Strong.

Your Winner: Jay Lethal
Honor Roll Ranking: 4.75

Amazing match by two fantastic competitors. Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly both stared at Lethal. Lethal with have to face O’Reilly for the World Title and Fish for the TV Title, in just two weeks, at All-Star Extravaganza.
