WHAT HAPPENED, THIS WEEK, @ WWE RAW

Wrestlemania is this Sunday and it was time to focus on the major players. Plus, the final inductee into the Hall of Fame was announced.

Roll the opening montage!

We are in the City of Angels for this kick-off to Wrestlemania Week. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns will stand Face to Face, tonight. Snoop Dogg and Bill Simmons (who?) are the special guests, tonight.

Sting’s video and music hit and the Vigilante arrived on the scene. He got one Hell of a pop. Monday was the 14th Anniversary of the Death of WCW. Sting requested a microphone. The “Sting” chant rose from the crowd. Sting was seriously excited. Sting took shots at HHH for manipulating his way to the top. Sting said he was not to fight for WCW but to topple HHH from his throne.

Stephanie McMahon sashayed from the back. Steph circled Sting like a shark looking for prey. Sting called Stephanie a “Spoiled little brat who has had everything handed to her”. Stephanie said her father destroyed Sting’s career. Stephanie threw major disrespect towards The Stinger. Sting screamed at Stephanie as she insulted him. Stephanie went to slap him but he caught the hand…

Out walked HHH, ready to whup *ss. Stephanie bailed out to the floor. HHH took off his jacket and got in the ring. Sting stood his ground as Stephanie brought out the sledge hammer. Sting reached into his trench coat and found his ebony baseball bat. HHH was hesitant to get in the ring. The Authority walked away from the fight. Sting removed his coat and dared HHH to get in the ring with him. The fans tried to push HHH to react but Stephanie held him back and told him to wait until Wrestlemania.

Paige and A.J. Lee talked about who should face Nikki Bella for the Divas title, tonight.

Dean Ambrose and R-Truth vs Star Dust and Luke Harper

The Finish:

Luke controlled Dean with a Rear Chin Lock. Dean pounded away but fell to the Black Hole Slam. 2 count. Luke Dean up top and then tagged out to Star Dust. Star popped Dean and then went for the Superplex. Dean blocked it and Star went over to tag out to Luke. Luke pushed Dean off the top rope. Dean dropped Luke with a vicious Clothesline. Back Elbow and Tornado DDT by Dean. Tags on both sides. Truth dropped Star with Dropkicks and a Clothesline. Corner Splash and an X-Factor. Luke made the save. Luke popped Dean and Superkicked Truth. Dean with the Teeter Totter Clothesline to Luke. Truth finished off Star Dust with the Lie Detector.

Raw Ranking: 2.5 out of a possible 5

Dean and Truth danced in the ring.

Renee Young was on the stage for a special presentation. She introduced several Special Olympics kids as well as the President and CEO of the World Games. The WWE has partnered with the World Games.

Michael Cole sent it back to Byron Saxton’s interview with Roman Reigns. Roman said this was the biggest moment of his life. Roman was confident that he would defeat Brock Lesnar, on Sunday.

The Miz and Mizdow came out to the ring. Mizdow got a massive pop. Miz and Mizdow interviewed Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart about the new film “Get Hard”.

Miz, Mizdow, Viktor, Connor and Adam Rose vs Titus O’Neil, Ryback, Erick Rowan, Darren Young and Zack Ryder
10-Man Tag Team Match
The Finish:

All the players got to shine in this match. Ryback with a Thesz Press and Spinebuster to Miz. Ryback set for the Meat Hook but had to take out Rose and The Ascension. Miz kicked Ryback from behind and stomped in the corner. Miz went for the Full Body Clothesline but got Meat Hooked and laid out with Shell Shocked.

Randy Orton vs Seth Rollins, Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble
3-on-1 Handicap Match

The Finish:

Orton hit a Double Rope-Assisted DDT on Jamie and Joey. Seth stayed far away from the chaos. Randy grinned at Seth. Seth rushed in and tried for the Curb Stomp. He missed and bailed out of the ring. RKO to Noble!

John Cena was interviewed about his US title shot at Mania. John said he always stated what was in his heart. John wanted to win the US title so that a true American could be the US ambassador to the World.

Paige and A.J. were still trying to figure out what the Bellas were up to. A.J. was worried that the Bellas were setting a trap. Paige called Lee “Crazy”, which is never a good idea. Paige did her best to keep the peace.

A.J. and Paige waited in the ring for the Bellas. Who would fight Nikki?

Paige vs Nikki Bella
Divas Title Match

The two women locked up and went to the ropes. Spear by Paige into a series of hard punches. Headbutt by the Pale Princess. Knee Strikes rocked Nikki to the core. Brie cheered her sister on. Paige nailed another Headbutt. Double Leg Trip by the Champ. Nikki did push-ups to mock Paige. School Girl by Paige but she only got a 1 count. The fight went to the floor and Paige hit a Clothesline off the apron. Nikki also pinned Paige as Raw went to break.

We’re back and Nikki was in control She had Paige trapped in a Rear Chin Lock. Spinebuster by Nikki but Paige kicked out at two. Nikki slapped at Paige and sent Paige to the ropes. Paige came back with a kick and Flying Clothesline. Paige with Short Arm Clotheslines and a Running Dropkick. Back Elbow by Nikki. Springboard Enziguri by Nikki. 2 count. Paige ducked a punch and hit a Thrust Kick. 2 count, again. Nikki blocked the Ram-Paige and rolled up Paige for 2. Alabama Slam by Nikki but she couldn’t follow up. Nikki wanted the Rack Attack but Paige got free and ailed the Ram-Paige. Could be…might be…Denied.

The two women tumbled out of the ring. A.J. attacked Brie. Lee accidentally decked Paige. Nikki threw Paige back in the ring. Rack Attack!

Snoop Dogg came out to the ring to address the crowd. At least I know who He is. Smile. I so dig this cat. Snoop was cut off by the arrival of “Axelmania” Curtis Axel. He was offended by Snoop’s using Snoopmania. Axel said “Axelmania is running wild”. Axel tried to rap but failed, big time. Snoop brought out the biggest Mania of them all…HULKAMANIA! Hulk Hogan strolled down to the ring. So cool. Snoop and Hulk did the Ear Cup thing. Hulk told Curtis a little story about pressing Andre, so many years before. Hogan praised Snoop, as well. Hulk wanted to know what Axel was smoking. Curtis did the shirt rip thing and got booed. Hogan dropped Axel. Snoop then tossed Axel over the top rope. Snoop took off the top shirt to reveal a “Hulkamania” t-shirt. Snoop had the skinniest arms that I have ever seen. The announcers were laughing it up, big time.

Cole sent it to an interview with Brock Lesnar. Brock was absolutely certain that he would destroy Roman Reigns.

Tyson Kidd and Cesaro and Natalya vs El Torito, Fernando and Diego
Six-Species Tag Team Match

It was announced that the Kick Off Show Match would be Los Matadores vs Tyson Kidd and Cesaro vs New Day vs The Usos.

The Finish:

Tyson flew off the top rope but ate a Dropkick. Cesaro got the tag as did Diego. Diego dropped Cesaro and tagged in El Torito . They double teamed Cesaro. Tag to Fernando. Hurancanran into the Skidmark. Tyson kicked Fernando and El Tortito Dropkicked Cesaro. Natalya hit the Discus Clothesline. EL Torito with a Sunset Flip to pin Nattie.

Bad News Barrett chatted with Kane. Kane took the belt to hang it over the ring. Barrett said he wouldn’t give it up. Kane warned Barrett that he would strip Wade of the strap if he didn’t give it up. Kane taunted Barrett about the Ladder Match, on Sunday.

Rusev vs Jack Swagger
Non-Title Match

Jack started with a Go Behind but Rusev broke free. Rusev ran Jack into the corner and kicked away. He then threw bombs into the kid from Oklahoma. He fans chanted for Lana but she was not there. Rusev stomped away on Jack and then kicked him. Rusev tried to choke out Jack and came close. Back Elbow by Jack. He two men punched and kicked away at each other. Rusev was dropped by a Big Boot. Corner Splash and Double Sledge. Jack tried for the Patriot Lock but had to settle for an Amateur lift. . Rusev slipped out of the corner and attacked Jack’s back. Rusev stepped out onto the apron and Clotheslined Jack. Running Thrust Kick to Jack’s jaw. Swagger was out cold. The Accolade.

Rusev refused to release the hold. John Cena came running down and Rusev let go. The two men began to battle. John took Rusev down and wailed on him. Rusev blasted Cena when they went to the floor. He threw John into the barricade. Rusev slammed Cena’s back into the ring post. John was tossed over the announce table. Rusev grabbed the Russian flag and held it high. Rusev noticed that Cena was getting up. Rusev came back around to confront his challenger. Bicycle Kick to John’s face. Rusev took apart the announce table. Rusev lifted and dropped Cena on the announce table. Accolade, on the table, and John passed out. It took a half-dozen refs to force Rusev to break. Rusev got in the ring and the Russian Flag unfurled.

Bray Wyatt’s music hit and the Fireflies lit up, all around the arena. Bray cut one of his typical cryptic promos. Bray wondered if The Undertaker was dealing with Fear, for the first time. Bray rambled on about how people cover themselves up to cover the fact that they were all liars. Bray stated that his tongue was the Sword of Truth. Bray called Undertaker a “liar”. Bray was cut off by the thunder and lightning. Bray said he controlled everything, including the living and dead. Bray was ready to become the New Face of Fear. Bray said he would allow Undertaker to “Rest I Peace”. The lights went out.

It was time to announce the last inductee…Kevin ‘Diesel” Nash. That led to a cool induction promo video. Nash won the IC, Tag Team and World Title in his first year in the WWF. Later, he would jump to WCW to help form the legendary New World Order. I’m really glad to see Nash get his spot in the Hall of Fame.

Nattie and Tyson did a comedy skit for Burger King. Nattie thought he meant her and then got upset when she saw it was all about food. Nattie took his chicken fries.

Daniel Bryan vs Dolph Ziggler
Special Guest Referee: Dean Ambrose

The Finish:

Dolph caught Daniel on the top rope. Daniel blocked the Superplex and pounded away. A Headbutt sent Dolph tumbling off the ropes. He ran the ropes and launched Daniel into a Flying X-Factor. Daniel kicked out at two. Daniel held the ropes to block the Zig Zag. Bryan wanted a Backslide but Dolph got it. Daniel kicked out and then kicked Dolph in the head. Daniel kicked away, in the corner. Running Corner Dropkick but Dolph hit he Superkick and Zig Zag to take the win.

Raw Ranking: 3.25

After the match, Dean planed Dolph with Dirty Deeds. He then went under the ring to get a ladder. Dean climbed the ladder but all the others from Sunday’s match hit the ring and all Hell broke loose. Barrett sent Daniel into the ladder and then laid him out with the Bull Hammer Elbow. Dolph with a Superkick to Barrett. Star Dust pulled Dolph down and hit Dark Matter. Harped pulled Dean off the ladder and then tipped it over. Everyone was down and the belt swayed in the breeze.

Face-2-Face: Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns

Paul Heyman introduced himself and Brock Lesnar. Paul said Brock was going to lay down a beating like no one has ever seen before. Paul said the fans were going to get their money worth at Wrestlemania. Paul ran down all the guys that Brock has taken out. Paul even taunted John Cena for losing his Main Event spot at Mania. Paul pushed just what a Conqueror his client is. Paul did not buy Reigns claim of “I Can… I Will”. Paul changed it to “You Can’t and You Won’t”.

That triggered the entrance of Roman Reigns. The two stared at each other and then Roman looked at the title. Brock thrust the strap in Roman’s face and mocked him. Roman snatched it out of Brock’s hand. Brock looked amused. Roman actually got booed. They struggled over the title belt. There was no audio, except the screaming crowd. The show faded to black.
