The situation between Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns continued to spiral out of control, this week. They had to work together, more than once, and neither time had the best of outcomes. Plus, the next member of the Hall of Fame was announced.

I want to begin by sending out special Birthday Greetings to a couple of good friends. Monday was the birthday of Frank M., a friend that I met through my work here. He’s a great guy and it’s my honor to call him a friend. Sunday was the birthday of one of my longest and closest friends. Sunny (no not THAT one) and I met while working the Graveyard Shift at a casino in Reno. Over the last decade, she’s always been there for me and me for her. She helped me get through the loss of my first wife and several other bad times. She went from being a friend to being my “sister”. Much happiness and good wishes to both of you.

This week’s show opened with a look back at HHH’s major announcement. He Authority completely messed with the whole Royal Rumble/Wrestlemania situation. Roman was tricked into putting his shot at Brock Lesnar on the line against either Seth Rollins or Daniel Bryan. Seth and Daniel went at it and Bryan earned a shot at Roman at Fastlane. The winner of Bryan vs Reigns, at Fastlane, gets Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania.

Roll the opening montage!

Roman Reigns came out to a somewhat hostile reception from the Ohio crowd. Raw showed how Roman took out Big Show, last week, with a Spear and then helped Daniel Bryan conquer Seth Rollins. Roman was now aware that The Authority doesn’t want him to battle Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania. Roman was determined to jump through whatever hoops were put in front of him. He doesn’t care who he has to face…

Out came Daniel Bryan. Daniel explained he didn’t come out here to fight Roman, he wanted to thank him for helping him. Daniel realized that Roman was bigger and stronger than him. Daniel made it clear that he was the better wrestler of the two…

The Authority made their appearance. Great, this is going to end up another half hour promo piece. Hell, cut the show back to two hours and get on with the wrestling. HHH pushed his confrontation with Sting and HHH gave Sting until the end of the night to respond to his challenge. Stephanie berated Roman and Daniel for their recent behaviors. Stephanie made a match: Big Show and Kane vs Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. The match starts next…

Big Show and Kane vs Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns

The Finish:

Show stepped over Daniels chest, a couple of times. Show challenged Roman to come in and stop him. Show climbed up for an Avalanche Splash. Daniel rolled out of the way. Roman threw Kane into the ring post. Show grabbed a steel chair and walloped Roman. Superman Punch to Show! Roman cracked Show’s back and ribs, several times. Chair Bandera Clothesline by Roman. Kane wanted a Chokeslam. Roman escaped. Daniel charged Kane but ended up taking out Roman with the Double Leg Lariats. Roman was seriously ticked off. Daniel tried to explain but Roman shoved Daniel down. Daniel got up and screamed at his tag partner. HHH made fun of the discontent. HHH made another Handicap Match: Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns vs Kane, Big Show, Jamie Noble, Joey Mercury and Seth Rollins. Ok, the whole Handicap thing is seriously getting old.

Your Winners (by Disqualification): Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns

WWE did a commercial for the new Flintstones/WWE Crossover cartoon. Hey, it worked well with Scooby Doo, why not milk another cartoon franchise?

Raw did a cool promo for Sheamus. He’s on his way back, after an injury.

Paige vs Brie Bella

Raw looked back at how the Bellas Spray Tanned Paige, last Monday. Thesz Press by Paige into a Thrust Kick. Brie came back with a Dropkick. European Uppercut by Brie. Knee Trembler by Brie but she only got a two count. Leg Scissors by Brie. Paige seems to have new ink on both forearms. Paige rolled over and nearly pinned Brie. Back Elbow by Brie into a Missile Dropkick. 1-2-not yet.

Both girls slapped each other. Short Arm Clothesline by Paige. Running One Legged Dropkick by Paige. Paige Whipped Brie into Nikki and hit the Ram-Paige to take out Brie.

Your Winner: Paige
Raw Ranking: 1.75

Rusev and Lana came out for the first Hour Turner segment. Nasty feedback on the microphone. Reminds me of Cheech and Chong Still Smokin’. Lana said she and Rusev were honored to face John Cena, at Fastlane. Lana praised Cena for his “Never Give Up” attitude and championship accomplishments. They sent it to a video package about John Cena. It distorted into a look at some of John’s epic fails. Lana questioned if John could keep going. Rusev took the stick and waited before he spoke. Rusev claimed the John Cena of old no longer exists. He started babbling in Bulgarian. Rusev screamed at the fans that he was a hero. Rusev accused John of being weak. He promised to break John’s body and spirit at Fastlane.

John Cena walked from the back and stared at the couple in the ring. John has heard all of Rusev’s claims of being unbeatable. John was on a mission…to shut Rusev and Lana up. John admitted that he has been beaten down for the past 13 years but he keeps getting back up. John was ready to teach a lesson in respect to Rusev. John Cena warned Rusev “This old man (Cena) is gonna whip your *ss”. Rusev mocked John for only having one eye and noticed John talked strong from the ramp. John pulled the Punk Card on Rusev. The two punched away up the ramp. John gave as good as he got. Rusev went to the injured eye of Cena. Rusev threw John into the video wall and stomped he back. Refs rushed out to protect the 15-time World Champion. Their match should be excellent.

Dolph Ziggler vs Bray Wyatt

The Finish:

Bray looked to have it won as he went for Sister Abigail. Dolph countered it into a Roll Up. 1-2-not yet. Famouser by Dolph and a Superkick. 1-2-kick out. Booker yelled at Dolph to hook the leg. Bray fell out of the ring to prevent a pin. Dolph came out but got dropped with a visious Lariat. Bray picked up Dolph and threw his lifeless form back into the ring. Spider Mode! Sister Abigail.

Your Winner: Bray Wyatt
Raw Ranking: 3.0

After the match, Bray dragged Dolph out to the floor. Bray peeled back the floor mat but the refs put it back. Bray toyed with Dolph as he refs tried to make Bray leave.

It was time for another Black History Month promo. This time, it was a profile of Junkyard Dog. He was one of my favorite wrestlers, as a youth. I had the honor of meeting him, in the Dallas area. He was a gentle man who always had time for the kids. JYD went into the Hall of Fame in 2004. Sadly, he was not able to be there as he had passed away from a car accident.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman came out to address the Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan situation. Paul was there to share some information with the fans. Paul said the Number One Liar in the Land was co-owned by Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. Both men are stating they came beat Brock…which is a massive lie to themselves and others. Paul suggested that Roman was afraid of Lesnar. Paul switched to talking about Daniel. Paul wondered if anyone actually thought Daniel could really beat Brock. The fans did. Paul didn’t care if it was Daniel Bryan or Roman Reigns that headed to Wrestlemania. Brock would decimate either one.

Raw looked at the dissolution of the Cosmic Twins. Goldust and Star Dust have had several serious confrontations, over the last few weeks. Star Dust freaked out when Goldust called his brother, Cody. Star warned Gold to never call him “Cody” again.

Gold and Star Dust vs New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston)

The trio had a tough time getting the fans into the “New Day” chant. Fans just aren’t buying this group. Turn them heel and they might have a chance of “going over”.

Star started against Kofi. Collar and Elbow and Kofi worked over the arm. Star grabbed a Side Headlock and hit a Shoulder Tackle. Tag to Goldust. Arm Drag by both sides. Star stepped down from the apron and walked away from ringside. Dropkick by Kofi but Goldust with a Slingshot and Uppercut. Star screamed at Star to get back to the ring. Roll UP on a distracted Goldust.

Your Winners: The New Day
Raw Ranking: .5

Roman and Daniel talked about what happened earlier. Roman said they had a common enemy in The Authority. They need to work together to get the job done.

Backstage, the Cosmic Twins continued to fall apart. Goldust was hot at his baby brother for walking away. Star Dust smacked Goldust when Dustin referred to Star as “Cody”. Star said Cody was “Dead”.

HHH was in the ring. He was waiting for an answer from Sting. HHH discussed his 2 decades in the WWF. He never left when other came and went. HHH said Sting nearly destroyed WWF, back in the day, through his association with WCW. HHH has been waiting for 14 years to expose Sting. HHH accused Sting of attacking like a coward. HHH wants Sting to stand face to face with him at Fastlane. HHH was willing to let Sting leave the WWE with his dignity intact, if he showed up at Fastlane. HHH demanded an answer from Sting…now. There was a serious Pregnant Pause before the Crow shrieked, multiple times. A bizarre video package ran on the Tron. “We Want Sting” rang out and Sting showed up in the ring. The Tron read…”I Accept”. Weird but cool. I don’t think that was actually Sting who showed up in the ring. Looked more like a painted up Heath Slater, to be honest.

John Cena now has a scratched cornea. They really need to be careful, eyes are not replaceable. Trust me, I’ve had massive vision problems for 35 years.

The Usos (w/Naomi) vs Tyson Kidd and Cesaro (W/Natalya)

Raw looked back at the Double Date fiasco from last week’s Smackdown. Kidd exploded on one of the Usos until Cesaro tagged in. Knife Edge Chops by Jimmy but Cesaro fought back. Jimmy chased Cesaro but Kidd got he tag. Double Team on Jimmy. Jimmy reversed a Whip. Jey with a Flying Forearm to the corner. 2 count. Jimmy tagged back in and they double teamed Kidd. Again, a 2 count. Whip but Kidd held on. Uso popped Kidd and got ready for a Suicide Dive. Kidd blocked it and flipped Jimmy to the floor. Nattie and Naomi had words on the floor as Raw went to break.

Back from break and Kidd got planted. Tag to Cesaro. Jimmy couldn’t reach his corner. Gut Wrench Throw by Cesaro. Amazing strength. Tag back to Kidd. Jumping Enziguri by Kidd for a 2 count. Jimmy fought back with Chps and punches but Cesaro hit a series of European Uppercuts. Back Elbow by Kidd. Jimmy crawled under Cesaro and hit a Windmill Kick to send Cesaro to the floor. Jimmy was disoriented but he finally reached the corner. Jey and Kidd both tagged in. Martial Arts strikes and Kicks by Jey. Kidd ended up in the Sullivan Tree of Woe. Flying Headbutt by Jey and then Kidd got free before the Rikishi Run. Kidd with a Springboard but he ate a Superkick. Kidd barely kicked out at 2 plus. Jey paid tribute to his daddy with the Rikishi Run. The well was dry. Kidd tried to use the ropes for a pin but the ref caught him. Cesaro pushed Jey off the top rope and Kidd took the pin. Cesaro had thrown Jimmy into the ring to distract the ref.

Your Winners: Cesaro and Tyson Kidd
Raw Ranking: 2.5

The next inductee into the Hall of Fame is…Rikishi! I’ve had the honor of meeting Rikishi a few time over the years. The Stink Face still makes me laugh. I still remember an incident at Mahoney’s Silver Nugget, back in the early 90s. He came out of the casino’s event center, looking for a restroom. He came up on an 80+ little old lady who was playing video poker. She didn’t see him coming and when he gently tapped her on the shoulder and asked “Excuse me, ma’am, could you tell me where the bathroom is?”, her jaw nearly broke the floor. That image will remain with me for as long as the memory is still working. That story continues to be my absolute favorite story about wrestling…ever! Congratulations to the Master of the Rump Shaker. He was definitely on my list of early predictions to go into the Hall of Fame.

Sin Cara vs Damien Mizdow

I so expect Miz vs Mizdow at Wrestlemania. Last week, Miz “Fired” Mizdow as his Stunt Double and then rehired him as a Personal Assistant. Miz made Mizdow set up his director’s chair and get his a microphone. MIz not let Mizdow take off his sunglasses as he used to do.

Collar and Elbow and Sin got a Hammerlock. Standing Switch but Sin Cara with the Leg Sweep. Damien pushed Sin to the corner. Snap Suplex by Damien into a Kneedrop. The fans chanted for Mizdow. Back Elbow by Sin bu Damien with a Dropkick to send Sin Cara to the floor. Damien quickly threw Sin in the ring. Miz stopped Damien and ordered him to get him a water. Miz then waned Mizdow to open it for him. Sin Flew out of the ring nad dropped Damien. Sin kicked away at Damien and Chopped him. Sin Cara tossed Damien back in the ring. 2 count. “You’re From Cleveland” rang out and Miz said “Better than Columbus”. Reality Check by Mizdow. Miz would not allow Mizdow use the Figure Four. The distraction allowed Sin Cara to Roll Up Damien.

Your Winner: Sin Cara
Raw Ranking: 1.5

Bray Wyatt cut a creepy promo about where we go when we die. It’s weird. My wife and I just taught about the Stages of Life in our Sunday School class, this week. Bray threw out a veiled challenge. I’m pretty sure who he wants to “Find Him”. It just might be quite the…Err..Undertaking. Grin.

Another Sheamus promo ran.

Curtis Axel was in the ring and said no one was going to steal his spotlight. Curtis wanted to keep “Axelmania” alive. He was cut off by the arrival of Dean Ambrose.

Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns vs Jamie Noble, Joey Mercury, Seth Rollins, Kane and Big Show
5-on-2 Handicap Match

Daniel and Roman stood back to back but had to break ranks to try and defend themselves. Seth and J and J attacked Daniel, while Kane and Show hit a Double Chokeslam on Roman Reigns. Roman was pushed out of the ring. The Authority forces stood tall as the ref checked on Daniel Bryan. The ref called for he bell. Seth with a German Suplex. She screamed t Daniel that he should expect this from Brock Lesnar and then hit another German Suplex. Tag to Show, who Skillet Slapped Daniel’s chest. Scoop Slam by Show. The Authority team cackled. Jamie Noble tagged in and Whipped Daniel into the ropes. Jamie dropped Daniel and then punched away. Drop Toe Hold sent Jamie into the corner. JBL brought up Wild B ill Irwin (Hell of a nice guy). Daniel and Roman had a major confrontation, after the match. Daniel was ticked that he did all the work and Roman got the glory. Daniel shoved Roman and Reigns came off the ropes with a Spear. In the back, HHH and Stephanie were all smiles as they watched what just happened.
