Crystal Ball: Survivor Series 2014

Jay Shannon draws upon all his predictive skills to pick the winners and losers of an upcoming major wrestling event.

The Authority has It all on the line as their representatives face off against the quintet known as Team Cena. There are also several other top tier matches set to go. Let’s take a look at the card…

Natalya, Emma, Alicia Fox and Naomi vs Paige, Summer Rae, Layla and Cameron
Traditional Tag Team Elimination Match

Predictions:

They really should have invited a few of the girls from NXT to join this party. The teams just don’t seem to work. Alicia Fox is a heel, yet she is on the Face Team. This battle will likely either happen early or bracket the Main Event and Ambrose vs Wyatt. I just expect this one to go fast. I have a funny feeling the Good Girls will take this one.

Predicted Winner: Alicia Fox, Emma, Natalya and Naomi
Predicted Grade: 1.5 out of a possible 5

Cosmic Twins (Gold and Star Dust) vs Los Matadores vs Miz and Damien Miz-Dow vs Jimmy and Jey Uso
Fatal Four Way for the Tag Team Championship

Predictions:

I really would like to see Miz and Miz-dow take this one. They would be a fun team to follow as the champs. I just don’t think it’s going to happen. The Usos had their run and will likely end up turning on each other in the next few months. Fernando and Diego are both great workers but they are more of a comedy team, ala the Bushwackers. I think the Cosmic Twins will somehow manage to retain.

Predicted Winners: The Cosmic Twins (Gold and Star Dust)
Predicted Grade: 3.0

Dean Ambrose vs Bray Wyatt

Predictions:

This is not going to be Lou Thesz vs Verne Gagne. It’ll be more like Bruiser Brody vs Abdullah the Butcher. There is absolutely no way that this one doesn’t get thrown out. Neither of these two have self-control and they are likely going to rip each other apart until the ref finally gives up and calls it a day.

Predicted Winner: Double Disqualification
Predicted Grade: 2.5

A.J. Lee vs Nikki Bella
Divas Title Match

Predictions:

You just know that Brie Bella will be (forcibly) at her sister’s side. I’ve gone back and forth on this one. Initially, I expected Nikki to force her sister to help her cheat to win the title. That may still happen but WWE has been good/bad about going against common sense when it comes to booking. Therefore, Nikki will expect her sister to help her but Brie will refuse. A distracted Nikki will then fall to A.J.. That sets up the next step in the Bella Twins storyline.

Predicted Winner: A.J. Lee
Predicted Grade: 1.5

Team Cena (John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Erick Rowan and Ryback) vs Team Authority (Seth Rollins, Kane, Luke Harper, Mark Henry and Rusev)
Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match, The Authority’s positions on the line

Predictions:

I love and hate this kind of match. The action is going to be incredible, most likely. The reason I hate it is the match gives me a major headache to try and figure out. I can justify and explain how and why both sides should win this. If The Authority were to be ousted, the door would be opened to bring in Sting as the new General Manager (highly rumored). That could build to Sting vs HHH at Wrestliemania, which would be awesome. HHH and Stephanie have been working hard for quite some time and it would make sense to take them off TV for a while. That has been the M.O. of the company, over the years. Best way to figure this one out would be how people would end up out of the match. Same with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. It’s going to come down to John Cena vs Seth Rollins. I hate to do this, but I have to make a final decision. I think…well…could be…oh, to Hell with it. John Cena will finish off Seth to end the reign of The Authority.

Predicted Winners: Team Cena (but just barely)
Predicted Grade: 4.0

This could seriously build some great feuds going into the Wrestlemania corridor. Rowan vs Harper is an obvious one. Rusev vs Ziggler could really excite the crowds. If they do bring Sting in, he will almost certainly face HHH at Mania. Cena vs Lesnar will happen at Royal Rumble, most likely. Seth gets involved. I think Lesnar will survive and Undertaker will challenge him for he WWE World title at the Flagship Event. I’m just thinking…

Peace
