IF DEL RIO FIRING IS A WORK, IT WOULDN’T BE THE FIRST TIME SOMETHING LIKE THAT WAS TRIED

There have been countless attempts over the years to stage something in a way that would work the internet or sometimes even other wrestlers not in on the work.

One attempt that never really got much attention was a time in WCW where Diamond Dallas Page and Buff Bagwell attempted to set up a fight in the catering area after Page had apparently walked into catering and caught Bagwell flirting with Page’s wife Kimberly. An argument broke out and the two men had an altercation that saw them both rolling over tables and chairs before being separated. It turned out the whole fight had been staged for the benefit of the WCW.com crew, who it had been hoped would get the report out on the internet to stir up interest for a DDP vs Bagwell feud. Only problem was the WCW.com crew was late getting to catering that day because they were setting up in another area of the arena and didn’t see any of what had just happened.

Some are questioning the validity of Alberto Del Rio’s release given the way WWE.com has announced it and has continued to comment on it. It remains to be seen, but is worth watching to see how things turn out.
