LAS VEGAS —Joe Vernola reporting … Matt Hardy’s claiming of the Future Stars of Wrestling (FSW) Heavyweight Championship capped off a wild night of wrestling Sunday, in Las Vegas.

Hardy, who defeated two-time former champion Al Katrazz, is just the sixth person to hold the championship and seventh champion overall, a championship previously held by pro wrestling stars like Michael Modest and current TNA star Kenny King.

This is the seventh championship currently held by Hardy.

After claiming the championship, Hardy said “[winning the championship] means everything to me. Future Stars of Wrestling is a tremendous promotion, one of the best in the world, and I am honored to represent it as the current World Champion,” before continuing “business is about to pick up.”

Future Stars of Wrestling is based in Las Vegas and has been running some of the largest shows in the western United States for the past five years.
