APTER THOUGHTS: WWE HOF OPENING & LITA INDUCTION

Posted April 5th, 2014 by Bill Apter

WWE HALL OF FAME 2014 THOUGHTS.
I’m watching this incredible show on the WWE Network. I am so thrilled that we’re able to be there – like John Cena said – no matter where you are!

Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, Renee Young, and Maria Menounos, handled their broadcasting duties with the highest professionalism. They had all the gleam and polish to make this a top notch production.

An amazing highlight video of so much of what the WWE is with music by Kid Rock kicked off the event—hosted by Jerry “The King” Lawler.
The opening Induction:
Amy “Lita” Dumas – Comments on a video package from AJ, Natalya, Kofi, Naomi, Michael Cole, Michael Hayes, Tamina, Summer Rae, Trish Stratus. They all discussed how she did things unseen by most women in the business – mainly the high flying moves.
Inducted by Trish Stratus who talked about their chemistry, appearing on the main event on RAW … She also mentioned how Lita was “relatable” to other girls and how she inspired them … She called her a “pretty awesome chick” … She discussed her work with animals … and called her her nemesis and “bestie” and that’s when she introduced her.
Lita looked beautiful – bright red dress – and fully tattooed arms! She talked about her early days trying to break into wrestling in Mexico … She credited Rey Mysterio Jr. with helping inspire her … She also said she owes Arn Anderson and Rey a Miller Lite (Beer) and had them served! Awesome moment and she shared a sip with Trish as well … Arn and Rey toasted to Lita! … She credited ECW and said “Heatwave” 1999 was her first Pay-per-view experience … Kane and Edge were talked about and her “Demon Spawn” pregnancy storyline … Director James Cameron is mentioned next – who cast her in “Dark Angel series” … Amy discussed her broken neck and emergency surgery – broken in 3 places … Rather than talk to medical people she said she wanted advice from “Stone Cold” Steve Austin who hooked her up with Dr. Youngblood (who fixed up Stone Cold’s broken neck) and she went onto more good years in the WWE … She thanked so many of the Independent promotions, and co-workers, crew, and so many others in the business. She mentioned that she and Trish are the “perfect ying-and-yang” together.
A class act all the way!
