Posted December 15th, 2011 by 1Wrestling News Team

This was a very special edition of the VOC Nation on 1360 WNJC and worldwide on VOCnation.com. With the old ECW arena closing its doors to wrestling on 1/14, we wanted to pay tribute to the most sacred grounds for wrestling in the city of brotherly love.

Joey Styles talked to us about his start in the business with Bill Apter, our quest to get Apter into the WWE Hall of Fame, his love/hate relationship with Paul Heyman, working solo on ECW broadcasts, and the current direction of the WWE product and their love of Twitter.

Tommy Dreamer gave heartfelt memories of his start at ECW, including how he got started, working with Paul Heyman, comparisons between brands and management, and his ideal retirement match on the grandest stage of all.

Shane Douglas shot from the hip as always and sent some controversial messages to Vince McMahon and the federal government. He also talked about his run in the NWA with John Laurinitis, and his run in the WWF as Dean Douglas. You don’t want to miss this one!

Arenachicks’ CEO Amber O’Neal also quickly joined us to give her memories of the Arena and updated us on the happenings in Arenachicks-land, and Greg DeMarco previewed the Greg DeMarco show which will air this weekend on vocnation.com.

The VOC Nation is heard every Wednesday at 5PM ET on WNJC 1360 Phila and vocnation.com. Keep listening! Follow us on Twitter @vocnation, and help our cause to get Bill Apter into the WWE Hall of Fame: http://facebook.com/apterhof
