Chikara presents “High Noon” on
Sunday, November 13, 2011
Philadelphia, PA. – The Asylum Arena

There was plenty going on in the wacky world of professional wrestling this past weekend, and I’m definitely proud to have been a part of it. One of the events in particular was Chikara’s inaugural iPPV broadcast on (GoFightLive). Fans from the Tri-State area as well as the New York metropolitan area descended upon the world-famous Asylum Arena in South Philadelphia to witness “High Noon”. This was my first opportunity to see Chikara live in person, and I had a wonderful experience. A learning experience. I want to extend my thanks to the folks at Chikara for welcoming me and congratulate you all on a great show!

The crowd was jakked before the gate at the Arena was raised and doors were opened as a lot was on deck to take place at “High Noon”. Jigsaw took on El Generico during the pre-show and they never looked back. Fans went on record saying this was one of their favorite matches of the evening. The revealing of the future of the Osirian Portal was a moment that had the crowd blowing the roof off. The extreme lucha tag match is another reason to order the replay when it comes out for those that missed the Live premiere, or if you want to re-live the moments again. A match 10 years in the making had the fans on the edge of their seats. Anticipation was at a fever pitch as Chikara got set to crown their first Grand Champion. Bitter rivals, Mike Quakenbush and “The Last of a Dying Breed” Eddie Kingston, were set to do battle, and man did they ever. Not to take anything away from anything else on the show. This was a roller coaster ride from start to finish! The Ants were another group I was looking forward to seeing in person. Tommy Dreamer back at the corner of Swanson & Ritner St. is good with me any day of the week. As I’ve said in several columns before, as a Philly boy, I have a special fondness for the Arena and its rich history that dates back some twenty years…adding to the already rich wrestling history here in the City of Brotherly Love. So check out the replay on and witness a great event from CHIKARA…..”HIGH NOON”!!!
