Austin Idol, also known as the “Universal Hearthrob” and Iron Mike McCord was an international Pro Wrestling Star who started his illustrious career in 1972. Idol survived a fatal plane crash in 1975 when the plane he was a passenger in went down in the middle of the waters of Tampa Bay. Austin made history when he defeated Jerry “The King” Lawler in a steel cage “Hair” match in Memphis,Tn April 27, 1987. Austin retired, or at least we think he retired, in 1993. Who really knows, look at Bret Favre? Visit Austin Idol’s website here:

What would a Pro Wrestling Legends Fanfest be without yours truly, the One and Only “Universal Hearthrob” Austin idol? Mark your calendars to be in Atlanta, Ga August 4-7 2011 at Atlanta’s Airport Marriott Hotel where Greg Price will once again pull out all the stops and spare no expense to put on a Pro Wrestling Extravaganza like no other! The parade of stars is unreal and baby, “The Women’s Pet and The Men’s Regret” will be right in the middle of all the action! If you’re one of the hard core Austin Idol fans, I’ll be appearing on Saturday August 6 from 11:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. Rumors are already swirling about the Idol, Lawler, and Rich photo opportunity! Imagine this if you can, Me and Tommy Rich, the treacherous duo who scalped the sacred locks of Jerry “The King” Lawler in front of a riotous sold out crowd at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee! This photo opp is about as good as it gets! I still get tons of fan mail asking, “Austin, will you and Lawler ever hook up again for a Hair vs Hair rematch”? The short answer is, “If the money is right it could happen!”

The 2011 NWA Legends Fanfest will be a spectacle to behold with my good friend “Rowdy” Roddy Piper making his first Fanfest appearance, ever! Hot Rod has left a Huge footprint in Professional Wrestling and is one of the greatest box office attractions of all time! I look forward to seeing him again since it’s been a long time we have had an opportunity to catch up.

Legendary Pro Wrestling journalist Bill Apter will also be making his presence known in Atlanta! I’ve known Bill Apter since 1973 when I first went to the WWWF in New York City as Mike McCord to work for Vince McMahon Sr. Bill has forgotten more than most people know when it comes to Professional Wrestling and I’m sure he’ll be flying all over the place in “HOTLANTA”! When you dig deep into the archives of Pro Wrestling and then check the MVP lineup of this amazing event it’s easy to realize just how important this is to the gazillion wrestling fans across the globe!

Here’s a partial list of Superstars that will be appearing for (4) days of shear madness: Stan Hansen, Terry and Dory Funk, Jimmy ” Superfly” Snuka, Ivan Koloff, Ole Anderson, Mr. Wrestling II, Tommy Rich, Harley Race, Nick Bockwinkle, and soooo many more! Opportunities come and go but, don’t let this one slip by you because this event is sure to be one that will have people buzzing for a long time. I want to publicly thank everyone for the Incredible amount of e-mails I continue to receive on a daily basis. The Austin Idol throwback Tee-Shirt featured on my website Homepage sold out in (9) days so we ordered a 2nd run to accommodate all those who were placed on our wait list.
