Report of Honor – 14th June 2011

Back here on 1wrestling.com with my second Report of Honor which includes all the latest news
and opinion on Ring of Honor wrestling. Enough of the formalities, here’s your report:

- Ring of Honor have announced more matches for the ‘Best In The World’ iPPV on June 26th. Steve
Corino – who is on the road to recovery – will go up against Michael Elgin of the House of Truth.
Corino has been on the end of a couple of beatings courtesy of the House of Truth and will go one-
on-one with their powerhouse. Corino will have his ‘sponsor’ Jimmy Jacobs in his corner after ROH
Officials announced that he would be allowed to accompany ‘The King of Old School’ to the ring.
Elgin will have House of Truth leader Truth Martini by his side.

- Jay Lethal will make his first appearance in ROH for five years and will go up against ‘The Prodigy’
Mike Bennett. Bennett has been very impressive in ROH so far and was crowned the 2011 ‘Top
Prospect’. Many fans were hoping that ROH might bring in an outside name to face Lethal but this
match-up makes sense. Bennett still has something to prove to the ROH fans and a great match
with a man as well respected as Lethal may just do that. ROH have also confirmed that they are
in negotiations with Lethal for him to do more dates throughout 2011 which is very good news
indeed.

- The third match that has been announced is Homicide vs. The Embassy’s bodyguard which we
now know is Rhino. Prince Nana had been teasing the announcement of his bodyguard and finally
told us that it is former World Champion Rhino. We have also learned that this will be a No Holds
Barred Street Fight. Both of these men are no strangers to brawls and this could be a very good
match. Homicide has been criticised by some ROH fans for his in-ring work since his return to the
company but putting him in the ring with somebody like Rhino is a very smart choice and will give
Homicide a chance to show his best stuff once again.

- Along with those matches are the three title matches that I discussed in last week’s Report of
Honor. Eddie Edwards will defend his ROH World Title against American Wolf partner Davey
Richards in a match everybody has been dying to see. The ROH World Tag Team Championship
will be on the line as Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas) defend in a
Four Way Elimination Match vs. The Briscoe Brothers, The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero & Claudio
Castagnoli) and The All Night Express (Rhett Titus & Kenny King).

- Also scheduled to appear at ‘Best In The World’ are the young team of Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly
and Colt Cabana. The Bravado Brothers are also trying to be booked on the card but to no avail
so far. It wouldn’t be surprising to see a Cole & O’Reilly vs. Bravados re-match from ‘Supercard
of Honor VI’. It’ll be interesting what they do with Cabana; he is a man who has tons of talent
but seems to be used mainly as a backup character to El Generico. I’d love to see a slightly more
serious side from him which would hopefully warrant a good singles push.

- If you want to check ROH out then you’ll be able to later this month as ‘Best In The World 2011′
will be live on iPPV! You can order the iPPV over at: http://www.gfl.tv/Events/Fight/Wrestling/
ROH__Best_of_the_World_2011/1052. The show costs just $15 and gives you more value for your
money than any other promotion. I promise that you won’t be left feeling disappointed
afterwards, rather, your wrestling needs will be completely fulfilled.

Many thanks for checking out my first ‘Report of Honor’ and I hope you’ll be back here next week.
