I just spoke with the Dallas Medical Examiner office and it has been confirmed that General Skandor Akbar — real name Jim Wehba — died at Baylor Medical Center in Garland, Texas last night at 8:16PM.

I will have a memory piece and recent photo of him posted later tonight.

Everyone here at 1Wrestling sends their sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and fans.

Skandor Akbar was the greatest heel in WCCW besides the Freebirds. He introduced us to Kamala, The Missing Link and others. He will be greatly missed by the whole professional wrestling world.

By far one of the best heels in the business. RIP Mr. Akbar, you were special. Loved his insight he gave on the WWE DVD on World Class Championship Wrestling too. And he did introduce a lot of stars into the business also, like Kamala, Missing Link, and I am sure a few others.
